A Tough Choice

Chapter Two

I couldn't stop thinking about his behaviour as I walked to Connie's office. He was being totally inappropriate and was making me feel uncomfortable. I didn't have to put up with it and I refused too.

I wasn't particularly keen on seeing Connie again, but I didn't know what else to do.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"Enter." I heard her say.

"Hi Mrs Beauchamp, can I have a moment?" I asked nervously.

She gestured for me to sit in the seat opposite her and glared at me over the top of her desk.

"I need to speak to you about a patient." I started.

"What about them?" she asked bluntly.

"I was treating a patient and he was behaving inappropriately." I said quietly.

"What happened?" she asked bluntly.

"He was suggestive." I said uncomfortably.
"Did he behave inappropriately towards you?" she asked.

I nodded.

"Well spit it out, I need to know what happened!" she snapped.

"He touched my arm and asked me out." I admitted.

She looked at me and smirked.

"Anything else." she grinned.

I slowly shook my head. I couldn't understand why she was smiling. I hadn't said anything that was funny. I know that he hadn't done anything drastic, but I had a bad feeling about him.

"Well I don't see that as harassment, you can easily say no and carry on treating him." she said impatiently.

"He's making me feel uncomfortable, I shouldn't have to put up with it." I argued.

"It's your first day here you can't just waltz in and start making demands!" she exclaimed.

I opened my mouth to speak but at that moment the office door and someone walked in. I turned and saw a brown haired man hovering awkwardly.

"Sorry Mrs Beauchamp I didn't realise you were busy, I'll come back." he said as he started to leave again.

"No Ethan it's fine, Emma and I are done." she said dismissively as she turned her attention back to me.

I rose slowly. I couldn't believe she was treating me like this. She was being harsh.

"Maybe you should learn to be less sensitive Nurse Chambers." she called after me.

Ethan smiled at me as I walked past, but I kept my head down and carried on walking.
