Ethan's POV

"What have I done now?!" Caleb exclaimed.

"Getting cozy with Emma." I said shortly.

"I wasn't getting cozy with her, she was upset so I gave her a hug." he stated condescendingly.

"Upset about what?" I frowned.

If she was upset about something she would have told me. I knew something was going on, but she didn't seem upset this morning, just quiet.

I glared at Caleb as he shrugged.

"What is going on?" I said angrily.

"Nothing." he sighed.

I shook my head, it was obvious from his body language that he was lying to me.

"Something happened between the two of you while I was away didn't it?!" I exclaimed.

"No of course not." he sighed.

"I don't believe you, you're both keeping something from me." I pressed.

"For god sake Ethan, when did you get so paranoid." he said rolling his eyes.

"Tell me I'm wrong then." I glared at him.

"Nothing happened between us I swear." he sighed.

"Well what's going on then?" I asked.

He opened his mouth to answer me but was interrupted.

"Dr Knight, Dr Hardy, don't you have patients to see!" Connie exclaimed.

"We'll talk later." I muttered to Caleb on the way past.

"Can't wait." he said sarcastically.

Emma's POV

I breathed a sigh of relief as I saw on the rota that I was working in cubicles with Zoe. It would have been awkward working with Ethan at the moment.

Zoe smiled at me as I walked over to her.

"Nurse Chambers this is Mr Sykes, he had a severe asthma attack last night, he's still on fluids, can you take his vitals whilst I get his asthma plan written up?" she asked me.

"Sure." I smiled.

I quickly picked up a stethoscope and the ear thermometer. I quickly took his vitals and wrote them on his records.

"I'll just see where Dr Hanna has got to." I smiled as I quickly walked to reception.

"Mr Sykes' vitals are fine." I told her.

"Good then he can go home." she said happily.

"Hello I'm here to see Ethan." I looked up into the eyes of an attractive woman. Her long dark hair perfectly complimented her dainty features.

"I think he said he worked here." she added as I stared at her.

"Are you one of his patients?" I asked.

"An old friend." she smiled.

"I'll just see if I can find him for you, what's your name?" I said quietly.

"Kirstie." she smiled.

I nodded and walked away. I couldn't stop thinking about her as I walked to resus. Ethan had never mentioned anyone called Kirstie before, did that mean he was hiding something. We hadn't been getting on lately and now Kirstie was here. I shook my head trying to clear my thoughts. I was just being paranoid I told myself over and over.
