"Are things still awkward with Caleb?" I asked her as she helped me out of my dress.

"Yeah a bit, it's hard because whenever I see him it reminds me of how things were." she sighed.

"So you had a good relationship?" I said quietly.

"Yeah it was the best, we dated for like four years." she stated.

"Oh wow!" I exclaimed.

"We met at our first year of uni." she smiled as she recalled the memory.

"How long ago did you guys break up?" I asked her.

"About three years ago." she answered.

"The worst part is I think this visit was a bad idea." she added.

"Why?" I frowned.

"It's stirred up my old feelings for Cal." she admitted.

"You're not over him?!" I exclaimed.

"I thought I was but I don't think so." she sighed sadly.

"Aww hun." I said as I pulled her into a hug.

"Maybe you should talk to him?" I suggested.

She shook her head quickly.

"Why not?" I asked.

"I can't." she said dismissively.

"He might be feeling the same way." I pointed out.

"Even if he does....I don't know if I want to be with him." she sighed sadly.

"How can I trust him again after what he did?" she added.

"What did he do?" I asked tentatively.

"Things were going great, we both graduated uni, we'd found a little flat together. I went away to visit my parents in Ireland. I missed him terribly, so I came back a couple of days early to surprise him. I caught him in bed with one of my best friends." she explained.

"Wow." I said, as a stunned silence hung over the room.

I'd known that Caleb was a ladies man, but I'd never have guessed that he'd do something like that. I felt a surge of pity for Kirstie. I'd be heart broken if Ethan did anything like that to me.

"I'm sorry to hear that." I eventually managed.

She smiled slightly and looked away from me.

"I still think you should talk to him, you'll regret it if you don't at least find out if he's on the same wavelength." I insisted.

I looked at her sad expression, maybe it was the nurse in me. I had to help, to see if I could fix things for her. I quickly dressed and hung up my wedding dress and made my way downstairs.
