I closed the front door and sighed as I returned from my counselling session. As much as it was a bind having to go twice a week, I couldn't deny how much it was helping me. I hadn't harmed myself since the day that Ethan caught me. Somehow seeing the sadness in his eyes had struck a chord with me.

"Hey, dinner is ready!" Ethan announced.

I smiled and walked over to him.

"What have you made?" I asked him as I peered over his shoulder.

"Carbonara." he said proudly.

"Uh oh." I spluttered.

"Don't criticise my cooking." he chuckled.

"Oh I meant to say, have you seen the rota for next week yet?" he asked me.

"I had a quick glance at it, why?" I asked as a laid the table.

"I'm working Wednesday during the day and then Wednesday night and Thursday day shift." he said quietly.

"Oh my god Ethan!" I exclaimed.

"That's far too much, you'll be exhausted." I added.

"Yeah probably." he grinned.

"You need to speak to Connie about it." I told him.

"It's fine." he stated.

"I'll talk to her tomorrow." I offered.

"Honestly it's fine, I volunteered to do it." he said quietly.

"Why would you do that?" I frowned.

"The pay is really good, it'll be nice to have some extra money." he answered.

I frowned at him for a moment, before I made the connection.

"Is this because Caleb took your money?" I asked him.

"Partly." he admitted.

"I thought he said he would pay it back." I sighed.

"He will, but it'll take a while." he pointed out.

"Maybe we should postpone the wedding then." I sighed.

I hated the thought of him working long hours. He'd be exhausted. It wasn't fair for him to have to take on this extra work because of what Caleb had done.

"No way!" he exclaimed.

"Ethan..." I started.

"I want to marry you more than anything." he added.

"You've already made up your mind about these hours haven't you?" I said.

He smiled and nodded. I sighed and sat down at the table.
