I yawned and rubbed my eyes as I finally arrived at work the following morning.

"You look exhausted!" Robyn exclaimed when she saw me.

"Thanks." I grinned.

"I'll be fine once I've had coffee." I added.

I smiled at her as she walked to the cafeteria with me. I glanced at my watch and saw that I still had twenty minutes until my shift started.

I brought my coffee and sat at one of the tables with her.

"How come you're so tired?" she asked as I yawned for about the sixth time.

"Couldn't sleep." I said sleepily.

"You missing your fella?" she grinned.
I smiled and nodded.

"When's he back?" she asked.

"Late tonight, I'm going to wait up for him." I grinned.

"If you don't fall asleep." she giggled as I yawned yet again.

"It's just so quiet without him." I admitted.

"You guys are too cute." she gushed.

I smiled at her and took a sip of my coffee.

"Have you made any plans for the wedding yet?" she asked me.

"We've been sorting out the car, Ethan found one on finance so it's worked out a bit cheaper." I answered.

"Cool." she grinned.

"It saves nearly half hour on the commute." I told her.

"Wouldn't you prefer to live closer?" she suggested.

I shook my head.

"I like living in a village where it's a bit quieter, I'm not a city girl. But if Ethan wants to move I'll go with him." I said.

"Where is it you live?" she asked.

"A little village called Yalding." I told her.

She shrugged.

"I didn't think you would know it." I grinned.

"Anyway it's wedding next and then house." I added.

"I bet you already know what wedding you want." she smiled.

"We need to work out a budget first plus it depends what Ethan wants." I admitted.

"He's a guy, I doubt he'll care." she giggled.

"Yeah it'll probably be left to me to organise." I sighed.

"At least you'll know it's been done properly, you know how guys are with organising stuff." she laughed.

"Yeah that's true." I smiled.

"So have you decided who's going to be bridesmaid?" she winked.

I laughed at her stern expression.

"Nope." I admitted.

"Well I'd better be top of the list." she pouted.

I rolled my eyes at her.

"I'll put you at the top of the list." I grinned.

"Yayyy!" she squealed as she clapped her hands.

"We'd better head to work." I said as I glanced at my watch.

"Try not to fall asleep during the shift." she teased.

The morning had really dragged. It didn't help that it was so quiet. I couldn't stop thinking about Ethan and how much I missed him. Get a grip I told myself.

"What's up with you?" Caleb asked as I sat at the desk and sighed.

"She's missing her fella!" Robyn piped up before I could answer.

I turned in my seat and glared at her.

"He's not been gone long." Caleb chuckled.

"I thought you'd be glad of a break from boring bessie." he added.

"He's not boring!" I protested.

"He is a bit." he chuckled.

I sighed and rolled my eyes. I couldn't be bothered to argue with him.

"I did offer to keep you company." he stated.

"What?" I frowned as I turned to him.

"I said that I'd stay at yours if you wanted company but he said no." he grinned.

I frowned at him, trying to figure out if he was telling the truth or not.

"He didn't tell you?" he asked.

"Nope." I said thoughtfully as I spun around in the chair.

"I don't think he trusts me." he chuckled.

"It's not funny, you guys could be close if you both made more of an effort." I said sharply.

"Yeah thanks Jeremy Kyle." he laughed.

I glared at him as he walked away. I looked up as Tess walked over to me, carrying a huge pile of paperwork. I smiled as she put it down on the desk, creating a loud thud.

"Have you had your lunch?" she asked me.

"Yeah I just came back." I told her.

"Do you fancy filing these?" she asked gesturing at the pile.

"What are they?" I frowned.

"Records of patients that have been admitted, they haven't been filed for a while so there's a bit of a backlog." she chuckled.

"Yeah I can do that." I sighed.

I sat for what felt like hours, it was mind numbing work. Time seemed to be passing at a very slow pace. I glanced at my watch and saw that I'd been doing it for nearly two hours. At least it would soon be home time. I perked up as I saw my name written on one of them. I gazed at it and saw that it was my records from my accident. I couldn't resist opening it.

I scanned all the entries, and gasped as I realised just how ill I had been when I was first admitted. I must have given Ethan a real fright.

"See you tomorrow!" I heard Caleb call as he left. I didn't answer.

I froze as I read an entry about me having a miscarriage. It had to be a mistake surely. I would have known if something like that had happened. I read on and saw that I'd been given morphine and as a result I hadn't been aware of the miscarriage. I gasped as I realised what this meant. I needed to find out if it was true.

I glanced again at the entry and recognised Caleb's writing immediately. I quickly stood up and ran after him.
