A couple of days had passed since Ethan dragged me to the chemist and he was delighted when the test gave a positive result. He'd been on cloud nine ever since.

"When are we going to tell everyone at work?" Ethan asked me randomly.

"Not for a while, we don't want to jinx things." I sighed.

I found it adorable how excited he was, but I had to hide my fear from him. I didn't feel ready for this. How could the two of us take care of a child. We both worked full time and loved our jobs, one of us would have to be around to look after the baby. I didn't want things to change, I liked them the way they were.

"You'll need to be careful what tasks you do at work." he said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah I know." I said quietly.

"Maybe you should just tell Connie for insurance purposes." he pointed out.

"I'm not telling anyone yet." I said impatiently.

I glanced at him as I felt him staring at me.

"Sorry." I sighed.

"It's fine." he smiled.

"Oh, I got you something!" he exclaimed as he stood up.

"Not again." I grinned.

I frowned as he handed me a bottle of tablets.

"Iron tablets." I frowned.

"Anemia is a common complication in pregnancy, so it's a good idea to take iron tablets." he told me.

"Take one a day." he added.

"Okay." I sighed.

"Also I think you should start taking your temperature regularly." he said quietly.

"What?!" I exclaimed.

"Infection is also a common problem and it's better to catch it early." he stated.

"Oh c'mon Ethan." I protested.

"What?" he said.

"Please don't start worrying all the time, it's exhausting." I sighed.

"I can't help it." he admitted.

"It's just because I care." he added.

"I know, but don't worry, everything will be fine." I reassured him, despite the worries that I was having myself.

"You will take the tablets though right?" he asked nervously.

"Yes I'll take them." I grinned.

My head snapped up as I heard the front door close. I stood up and walked into the hallway.

"Cal!" I exclaimed when I saw him.

He smiled slightly and pulled me into a hug.

"Where have you been?" I whispered.

"I just needed to get away for a couple of days, to clear my head." he stated.

"We've been worried about you." I told him.

"I told you I was fine." he pointed out.

"I missed you though." he added.

I smiled and blushed.

"Where are you going?!" I called as he walked upstairs.

"I need to speak to Kirstie." he sighed.
