"What's wrong?" I asked as I entered the bedroom.
"I can't find my debit card." he said worridly.
"Did you take it to work with you?" I asked him as he rummaged in his jacket pockets.
"Yeah, I put fuel in the car on the way in." he said thoughtfully.
"I'll check the car before I leave." I told him.
"If it's not there I'll have to call the bank and cancel the cards." he sighed.
"Make sure you check everywhere first and I'll call you when I get to work to see if you have found it." I said."Okay then." he answered.
"You'd better go, or you'll be late." he added.
"I'll speak to you in a bit." I said as I quickly walked down to the car.
I rummaged everywhere, I moved the seats and even checked under the carpet in the boot, but I still couldn't find it. Eventually I gave up and drove to work.
As soon as I arrived I took out my phone and quickly called Ethan. He answered on the first ring.
"Please tell me you've found it!" he exclaimed.
"Nope, I looked everywhere." I sighed.
"I don't know where else to look." he said quietly.
"Me neither, I guess you'll have to phone the bank and cancel the card." I told him.
"Yeah I know." he sighed.
"I have to go." I said as I quickly hung up.

I rushed around the hospital as I quickly carried out my duties. I looked up as the phone rang.
"Holby A and E." I heard Caleb say.
"Yeah hang on a sec." he added.
I glanced up from the paperwork as Caleb walked over to me.
"Ethan wants to talk to you." he said, looking at the floor.
I sighed and picked up the phone.
"What's wrong?" I asked quickly.
"I cancelled the card." he said quietly.
"Well that's a good thing, it shouldn't take too long to get a new one." I reassured him.
"Emma." he whispered.
"Don't worry, it will arrive in a few days." I told him.
"Emma." he whispered again.
"Hmm?" I asked.
"I was too late." he whispered.
"What are you talking about?" I frowned.
I felt my heart rate increase as I heard him take a deep breath.
"The money has already been stolen." he admitted.
"What?" I breathed.
"I've been scammed, to the tune of fifteen grand." he whispered.
"Oh my god." I said, to stunned to think clearly.
"I am so sorry." he said, I could hear in his voice that he was crying.
"It's not your fault." I reassured him.
"It's better let you go before you get into trouble." he sniffed.
"Is Kirstie with you?" I asked.
"Yeah, why?" he said.
"I don't want you to be alone when you're upset." I said warmly.
"We'll go to the police station when I get home." I told him.
"See you later." he said, before hanging up.
I slowly hung up the phone as my brain began to spin. Who would do that to someone as kind as Ethan? It had to be someone he knew surely? To take the card and within a matter of hours to steal the money. I gasped as I had a terrifying thought. What if Kirstie had taken it? I barely knew her, who's to say she wasn't capable of that. She'd only been with us a couple of days and now this had happened, it couldn't just be a coincidence could it?
"You keep frowning like that you'll get frown lines." Caleb chuckled as he sat next to me.
"Not funny." I sighed.
"What's going on, Ethan sounded upset?" he asked.
"He's lost his debit card and now some money has gone missing." I said quietly.
"Uh oh." he stated.
"Yeah." I whispered.
I glanced at him and frowned as he quickly looked away from me and stared at the floor.
"I think they took quite a lot, Ethan was pretty upset." I said thoughtfully.
He nodded slowly.
"Hopefully the police will be able to get it back." I sighed.
"The police!" he exclaimed, snapping his head up.
"Yeah, we're going to the station when I finish." I told him.
"Please don't!" he exclaimed, panic evident in his voice.
I turned to face him and watched him closely.
"We need to report it, to try and get the money back." I said.
"It was me." he blurted.
"That's not funny." I sighed.
"I'm serious, Taylor needed the money for her charity to help a disabled child. I was trying to do something good for once." he rambled.
"By stealing from your brother." I whispered, unable to comprehend what I was hearing.
"I guess." he shrugged. I could see on his face that he felt guilty, but at that precise moment, I didn't care.
"How could you do that to him?!" I exclaimed as I stood up.
"I'm really sorry, you can't tell him, or the police!" he cried.
I scoffed and walked away.
"Emma." he pleaded.
"Don't!" I warned him as I carried on walking.
AN: I'm sorry that I copied the actual programme with this idea, but I wanted to try a different way of the characters responding to the situation. Hope it's okay :)
