"What's this about?" Caleb asked as he followed me into Kirstie's room.

"You need to talk." I said as I opened her bedroom door.

"What's going on?!" she exclaimed.

"I think the two of you should talk." I stated.

"That's not such a good idea." she protested.

"Just try it." I insisted.

I looked between the two of them as they sat together awkwardly.

"I have nothing to say." Caleb sighed.

"That's a first." Kirstie snapped.

I glanced at Kirstie and nodded reassuringly.

"Did you feel anything when I kicked you out?" she blurted.

"Well of course I did, I still loved you." he said quietly.

"I had to do it, you broke my heart." she admitted.

"Yeah I know that now." he muttered.

"It's been almost four years." she whispered.

"And I still care about you." she added.

"I think I know where this is going." he said as he quickly stood up.

Kirstie glanced at me, a concerned expression on her face.

"Would it really be such a bad thing?" I asked him.

"Yeah it would, I don't feel the same way." he admitted.

I watched as he walked out of the room.

"I'm in love with someone else." I heard him whisper as he walked past me.

I turned my attention to Kirstie and saw that she was crying, I walked over to the bed and put my arm around her shoulders.

"I'm so sorry, I've made it worse." I said quietly.

"No you haven't, at least I know where I stand now." she sniffed sadly.

"Are you girls okay?" Ethan asked from the doorway.

"I'll be fine." Kirstie said sadly.

"What happened?" he frowned.

"Cal's being an arse as usual." I told him.

"Speaking of which this envelope is for you." I added.

He frowned as I handed him the envelope.

"Do you want me to talk to him for you?" I offered Kirstie.

She shook her head sadly.

"You can't anyway, he's gone out." Ethan stated.

"Gone where?!" I exclaimed.

"I don't know he just grabbed his jacket and left." he answered.

"Maybe he needed some air." he added.

"Don't worry about it Kirstie." Ethan said.

She looked at him and smiled slightly.
"C'mon the pie must be cooked by now." he stated as he took her hand and pulled her up.

"I'm not hungry." she protested.

"Tough." he grinned.
