I sighed as Caleb eventually left, slamming the door behind himself.

"You okay?" I asked Ethan.

"Yeah he's always like that." he answered.

"It's a difficult situation for you." I said as I sat on the sofa next to him.

"Mum didn't want him to waste the money partying and stuff. She wants it to help with his future." he told me.

"Do you think he will waste the money?" I asked.

"Probably, he almost got kicked out of uni because he spent so much time partying and failed the exams." he answered.

"Wow." I breathed.

"What should I do?" he asked as he ran his hand through his hair.

"I don't know, you know him better than me, and you know how your mum felt." I pointed out.

He sighed.

"We should forget about it today, it's meant to be Christmas." he said sadly.

I smiled at him.

"It's your turn." he added.

"Huh?" I asked him.

"To ask a question." he grinned.

"Well..I was going to ask why you and Caleb don't get along, but maybe it's best not to talk about it." I said.

"We've never really got along because we are so different. He used to pick on me quite a lot." he said.

"Yeah I noticed that." I admitted.

"He never got along with Dad either, and I was close to my Dad so I think he resented me for that." he told me.

"Why didn't they get along?" I asked.

"They clashed a lot, too similar I guess." he stated.

"That's why his surname is Knight and mine is Hardy, he changed his surname to mum's maiden name." he added.

"Oh, I did wonder about that." I breathed.

"Do you think he will get a lawyer?" I asked him.

"Probably not, he'll just keep pestering me for the money." he said thoughtfully.

"I'll talk to him tomorrow." he added.

I sighed deeply, I couldn't shake the feeling that we hadn't heard the last of this.

AN: Sorry the last couple of chapters have been a bit boring. There is some exciting stuff coming up, it'll get better I promise :) x
