Lloyd and his father wandered through the jungle. They had to find Nya before any of the other contestants. "Hail Combatants! I have left you a few treats to help you on the hunt, I hope you use them wisely," Chen announced.

Garmadon and Lloyd completely ignored it, they firstly had to find Nya. "You said before Master Chen was your Sensei, but nothing else," Lloyd said.

"Son, there are things from my past that I am not proud of, perhaps it's time for you to know the truth," Garmadon sighed as they continued walking

Garmadon had told Lloyd his life story, how he had taken Wu's love letter to Misako and sent to her as his own. "Mom thought that love letter was from you," Lloyd said.

"As I've told you, there are things in my past I'm not proud of, but I have no regrets. You wouldn't be here otherwise. My fear of losing Misako controlled me and led me down a dangerous path. A path I hope to one day make peace with and a path I want to keep you off," Garmadon replied.

"(y/n) ..." Lloyd realized.

Garmadon nodded, "I fear that your attachment to her may cloud your judgement," he admitted.

"I wouldn't know what to do without her, since she left to the mountain everything has just been dull," he admitted, "and honestly I feel that I am letting her down, there's nothing I can do when she's in trouble, but she doesn't think twice nor let anyone stop her when I'm in trouble."

"That is why the two of you work so well, (y/n) will rush in without a second thought and paired with your sense of judgement, you're an unstoppable team. I'm not saying that your attachment to her is a bad thing, I'm saying don't let it consume you," he cautioned as they continued their way through the forest.

"What is don't understand is that you trained under Chen and served with Wu in the wars. What happened to the truce?" Lloyd asked.

"When Chen said, 'never trust a snake', he was right. The serpentine struck first. The alliance of the elemental master's fought back but they had never seen the likes of an Anacondrai warrior. They were bigger, smarter, natural leaders on the battlefield. The Anacondrai were a proud tribe who fought with every ounce of venom, there was no greater warrior in the land. And with them in command they proved to be too much for the alliance to handle. Chen stood to gain more if he sided with the Snakes and wanted me to help him. Though the evil in my veins tempted me, I wouldn't fight a war for him. I would only fight to see Misako again. From then on Chen and I went our separate ways so that I could join my brother in battle. We were the sons of the first spinjitzu Master and together with the Elemental Alliance, we stood a fighting chance, but Chen's influence changed that, he found a way to turn the Alliance against each other. The battle was all but lost."

Sensei Garmadon stood still and looked to the skies. "In our darkest hour we found hope. The serpentine were divided and locked away in tombs, Chen and Clouse were exiled. And the Anacondrai generals were given the strictest sentence: Banishment to the cursed realm so that they will never set foot in Ninjago again," he finished.

"What turned the elemental master's against each other?" Lloyd asked.

Sensei Garmadon sighed, "Akash. An old friend of mine, probably the only person I ever talked about my history with Chen. A fierce warrior.... he was murdered and no one ever figured out who did it," he finished.

"(y/n)'s great-grandfather?" Lloyd asked.

Sensei Garmadon nodded, "Akash was one of the great's and he didn't deserve to die such a cruel death, the Masters of wind have often suffered great misfortune," he continued but stopped.

The continued walking, "what do you mean misfortune?" Lloyd asked, obviously worried for (y/n).

"It's nothing to worry about," Garmadon finished
