She had felt this before, the feeling of life slowly slipping away. It starts from the fingers and slowly she lost the feeling in the rest of her body.

Except this time it was much quicker. Her weakened body faltered under the pressure from the flames, she didn't even have time to scream as a searing heat crept across her flesh, stealing the breath from her lungs, sending her into a very familiar ocean of darkness.

She remembered this feeling well. The feeling of standing yet floating, the feeling of breathing yet no air, everything was at a standstill as her lungs no longer needed air and her heart was no longer forced to beat.

She fell to her knees. Dead again. She hated being so strong that a single sign of weakness was fatal to her. It happened when she let her guard down in front of Harumi and it happened when she let her guard down at the hide away house.

"Windsor!" She screamed. She knew her voice was loud but in the void it was nothing, there was no sign of the noise she makes is loud or quiet. "Show yourself!" She screamed but no one answered her. Loneliness began to drown her as she desperately needed to cling to someone... anyone.

Light filled the void, she rose to her feet and smiled, she knew Windsor would come and show her the path back to the living. She needed to find her kids and make sure they were safe. But her smile dropped when it wasn't Windsor who had come for her but the first spinjitzu master. She bowed to him out of respect. "Rise, there is no need for such formality, we are family," he smiled softly.

"Why are you here?" (Y/n) asked snappily.

"I can tell you're eagerly wanting to return to the land of the living and aid your loved ones but I am afraid I cannot let you do that," he said solemnly.

Panicked, (y/n) stumbled backward, "no! I have to go back, my kids... Lloyd, they need me," she pleaded.

"I am afraid there is nothing you can do," the first spinjitzu master said shaking his head. "You are fading already as we speak."

(Y/n) looked down and her feet were slowly disappearing, "what's going on?" She asked fearfully.

"A soul can only die once, you were warned by Windsor that if you died again you would vanish completely and not even I have the power to stop it," The first spinjitzu master sad sorrowfully.

"Please you have to stop it," (Y/n) begged, this couldn't be the end, she couldn't vanish like this, Lloyd would be devastated.

"Cut it out old man," A voice huffed and appeared into the void. Morro stepped forward.

"Dumbass," (Y/n) spat at him.

"Crazy bitch," Moro hissed at her. He then turned to face the spinjitzu Master. "Geezer, you forgot to mention that someone else can take her place, give their spirit for her to live on."

"That would only allow her to enter the realm of the departed, not return to the living," The first spinjitzu master answered.

"But why Morro? It's not like you've ever given a damn before," she spat at him.

"Look kid, I fucked up, I slaughtered just about every single person with a drop of Windsor blood, there is no redemption for me but this.... They might finally give me respect for giving my soul for yours," he sighed deeply. For someone dead he looked tired, like her just wanted out and this was the only way to do it.

"Then you shall need a second soul," another voice spoke up and Mystake appeared from the darkness.

"Mystake?!" (Y/n) gasped, she would have run to her but her fading body make it impossible for her to move.

"With mine and Morro's spirit you can stop her from fading and send (y/n) back to the living world," Mystake said firmly as she stood by Morro.

"No, no Mystake, you can't," (Y/n) yelled at her, (Y/n) desperately wanted her to turn around and face her, she wanted to see Mystake.

"Child you were my purpose in my long life, you brought joy to it, we will never see each other again after this but you have my teachings and I like to take credit for instilling your ferocity into you," she smiled, she glanced over her shoulder and gave (y/n) a wink.

(Y/n) smiled, if she were living she'd have been a crying mess.

"Then mine can be used so that when she passes again she can rest peacefully in the realm of the departed," Another voice spoke up and Azan stepped forward.

"No!" I refuse you, have family that wish to see you again." (Y/n) snapped at him.

"I have dedicated everything to the house of wind, if I must dedicate my soul then so be it, my family will understand because our family's honour rests with our continued service to the House of wind," Azan said firmly. He was the same as he was in death as he was in life, loyal and stubborn.

She knew there was no way she could change any other their minds and until the day she died of all age, she would live with their sacrifice.

"I'm afraid that's not up to you brat," Morro snapped at her, "besides the after life is worse than hell anyway, Aera will murder me if you vanish and I return," he grumbled, "I at least don't have to put up with them anymore."

"As Morro said it is not up to you and we will gladly give our lives so that you can save many more," Mystake answered for her and Azan.

She was fading fast, she wanted to say goodbye but didn't get the chance as a blinding light enveloped them.

Thunder roared above the ruined monastery. Wind began to swirl around the quiet mountain, it roared in a fury. Lightning crashed upon the mountain, striking the ruins.

The lightning pulled (y/n) from the wreckage, blasting the stone away. The cold wind in the sky made her feel alive as she inhaled the sweet air. She could feel power... more than she had ever felt coursing through her veins.

For a second Windsor appeared in front of her, "where were you where the people I love... minus Morro... were throwing the souls away," she hissed at him.

But Windsors stare remained blank, "we no longer name you disgraced and dishonoured, your sacrifice for the master of water reinstates your titles as the Ninja of Wind, Master of Skies and the unrelenting storm," he deemed, "this power will fade, what you have is the fading power of Morro's spirit, their strength healed your body and restored your life but the poison in your veins will take over soon," Windsor warned.

(Y/n) stuck her hand out. She felt a tingling she died to feel before and with a boom she changed into her battle uniform and the staff of wind rested in her hands. "Then I better get going," she smirked.

The storm picked up and the silhouette of a dragon appeared in the light of the thunderstorm. When she turned back Windsor was gone and her dragon flew down from the stormy heavens, it let out a fiercesome roar and landed in front of her.

She leaped into its back and took to the skies. She was back and stronger than ever, time to act was short and she needed to move quickly before she lost consciousness.
