(Y/n) hated being on bed rest, it was dull, she hated doing nothing for hours on end. She wondered what the others were doing. She knew Lloyd deliberately left out details of what was going on so she wouldn't try helping out. She sat up, wincing at the sharp pain that wracked her body with any movement. She used her element to throw the windows open. Dawn had passed and the day was in full swing, she wanted to be outside in the morning breeze, where the cold winds of the night met the warmed winds of sunlight. The door slid open, and Misako walked in with a tray of tea, "I'm surprised you haven't snuck out," she smiled as she rested the tray on (Y/n)'s bedside table. She took a seat beside her bed.

"I'm bored," (Y/n) grumbled as she took a sip of her tea. Lemon and honey.

"I'm sure time will pass by quickly, only four more weeks until you can walk around," Misako replied. She smiled to herself as she watched (Y/n)'s face scrunch up in frustration. That frustration suddenly turned into a frown. "(y/n)?" Misako questioned as (y/n) gazed out the window with a concerned stare.

"Something is wrong," she speculated. "The winds feels ominous, as if it carried the sorrow of death, yet it's a sharp as the breeze of winters bite," she described. She had never felt such a wind before. It sent chills down her spine and the hair on the back on her neck stood up. It was a wind that carried a message and a warning. She had felt the winds of evil before, it was what made her hair stand and made her nervous, it felt like she was in a horror movie. The other part of the wind, the ice-cold factor was unbeknownst to her. "Misako do you have a radio?" (y/n) asked.

Misako nodded and quickly left the room, returning with the radio and turning it up. "Reports are coming in from across the city of the overlord tearing up the streets, officials advise to seek shelter and hope that the Ninja show up soon," the news reporter warned.

"Where are they?" (y/n) asked. Now she was more than concerned, the overlord was attacking, and the others were nowhere in sight. (y/n) tried to swing herself out of bed but stopped as a sharp pain shot through her side.

"(y/n) you need to rest, there's nothing you can do. Even if you could get up, you'd be putting yourself in immediate danger with your condition," Misako pointed out as she helped (y/n) to lay back down.

"I can't just sit by, there are innocent people in trouble, Lloyd and the others could be in trouble," (y/n) argued as her gaze remained fixed on the window.

Misako sighed, "(y/n), you'll just have to have faith that they're okay, at the moment the best thing you can do is rest and let your wounds heal, I'm sure that everyone would agree that you need to rest," Misako assured. (y/n) didn't answer her, she just stared out the window.

She knew something was terribly wrong.

~~~***~~~
It felt unreal.
The overlord was defeated but at what cost.
Zane was gone.
Lloyd felt numb as he stared at the ice that covered the area. He tried to remind himself that danger was a part of the job description of being a ninja.
He looked around at his team. They looked defeated even though their enemy had been destroyed once and for all. There truly was no victor in this case. Lloyd clenched his fists; he had done nothing but watch as he was protected by his friends and when they needed them most there was nothing he could do.
The wind blew gently past them, Lloyd's gaze was fixed on the direction which it came from. (y/n). Lloyd feared to close his eyes as his mind kept reminding him of (y/n)'s broken body and Zane's sacrifice.
"Lloyd are you okay?" his father asked as he laid a hand on his shoulder. Lloyd just kept staring into an empty space, the numbness was deafening, as if his mind was still processing that one of his brothers-in-arms would not be coming back.
