Calling for Allies

There was a rumbling outside. Crystal warriors marched on by causing everyone inside the makeshift hideout not to mutter a word.

Then there it was, a roar of wind that mimicked the first violent breezes to blow through the city. The building began to shake, "(Y/n) really knows how to shake things up," Kai shuddered as everyone worriedly glanced around at the far from sound structure of their hide out.

The building stopped shaking as the winds died down and the doors were blown open, "sorry for the entrance, I accidentally blocked it with some rubble," she grinned as she walked in the with the paper boys following behind her. They quickly scurried off to find their friends and family to tell them all about how they found the master of wind and how she took down the crystal warriors without breaking a sweat.

"(Y/n)!" Misako welcomed as she hugged her. "What are things looking like out there?" She asked.

"Ugly. These crystal things are just about everywhere and are deliberately avoiding me," she complained. "Like come on, you're an army of mindless drones ordered to fight and I enjoy violence, it's a win wins situation when they're not avoiding me like pansies," (y/n) grumbled.

Cole patted her on the back, "only you would be complaining about a lack of crystal warriors to fight."

"And (y/n) we're going to need to have a talk about the reckless destruction you caused," Wu scolded, raising an eyebrow.

"Spare me the lecture Wu," (y/n) grumbled, "I've cut down a decent chunk of the army just from that one attack and admit it, the less underlings to fight, the easier it is."

"It was a little overkill, skyscrapers (y/n)? That's a new type of levelling the playing field, even for you," Kai chimed.

"Yeah, if we didn't get to shelter you would have taken us out in that storm," Cole pointed out.

It was in the next few minutes that they had finally managed to get communications up and get a message to the other ninja. Everyone was alive at least, scattered above and below Ninjago to try and avoid the overlords forces.

The next bit of business was to get the NGTV's broadcast tower to get a message out to Vania. They were worried about the overlords forces intercepting them.

A grin spread across (y/n)'s face. "I don't think you have to worry about the crystal warriors."

"(y/n) it's too dangerous," Misako warned, "one touch and you become infected by the crystals."

(y/n) rolled her eyes, "I've lost count with how many I've wrecked and if anyone has a good way to disengage the enemy it's me, as long as I'm faster and than them I'm fine," (y/n) assured. "That has always been my roll, the one woman army."

The streets were crawling with crystal warriors. They could feel the rumbling of the crystal dragons as they stomped through the city.

Cole and (y/n) peaked outside. "Okay Cole, I'm going to blow them away and create the biggest distraction you've ever seen, once I do get the other two and get to the tower, if you get into trouble call me." She whispered.

Cole grabbed her wrist, "you sure you can handle all of them, we know you're tough (y/n) but everything is always gunning for you (y/n), not only do I speak on behalf of Lloyd but all of us, don't give us a scare again."

She gave Cole a soft smile at patted him on the back, "I'm used to it by now, over time I've learned when you're the one of the strongest thing in Ninjago, anything weaker will try to take you out, this'll be a walk in the park," she assured.

"Okay (y/n), as long as you know what you're doing," Cole nodded.

"You may want to hold onto something," (y/n) smirked as she stepped out from her hiding places. She stretched out her hand and summoned her staff.

Cole grabbed on to the nearby building hoping not to be blown away. The wind whipped around (y/n), the winds slowly picked up catching the attention of the crystal warriors.

They turned their heads towards her and... ran in the other direction. "Cole are you seeing what I'm seeing!" (y/n) said in disbelief.

Cole rubbed his eyes, "you weren't kidding when you said they were avoiding you."

"Well they're not getting away," (y/n) glowered as the sky began to rumble, a tornado touched down and was sent after those that tried to escape.

Cole watched as (y/n) chased after the tornado, he scratched his head wondering if he did actually see crystal warriors running away from (y/n). It wasn't the effect they were thinking of but repelling the overlords forces was just as good as luring them away in Cole's eyes.

Lloyd continues to search in the library, the light illuminating from his power allowed him to glance over the books. He was glad to know that (y/n) was fine, fighting large battles was always her forte, he wondered how she did it, he wondered how she could muster up the sheer force and stamina to just plop through armies, alone even. There was just something different when it came to the master of wind and sky.

Thinking of her was far better than listening or thinking about what Garmadon was trying to preach. "We came all this way looking for the serpentine to help battle the overlord and there is literally no sign of them," Garmadon scowled as he and Lloyd wondered through the library. "I believe this is what's called a total bust."

"Oh thanks for rubbing it in," Lloyd grumbled as he rolled his eyes.

"The good news is they would've gotten in the way. What's her name? (y/n)? Anyway, she can do far much more than the serpentine ever could. We're better off without them," Garmadon reasoned.

"We need allies!" Lloyd argued, "we can't do this alone! We can't leave (y/n) to fight alone!"

"That's the human part of you talking. If you would embrace your oni side, you would discover your full strength," Garmadon explained as he summoned his own power to prove a point.

"My humanity is not weak! And relying on allies, having friends, and having compassion for others doesn't make you weak!" Lloyd screamed at Garmadon.

"Having a what now?" Garmadon asked.

"It means caring! Of course you don't know what it means. You're incapable of compassion," Lloyd glared at Garmadon.

"I know what caring means and I'm not incapable of it, I am learning how to have.. compassion," Garmadon huffed, trying to defend himself.

"And that's ridiculous, you can't learn how to care," Lloyd scoffed, "you either care or you don't." He began to scribble on a chalk board.

"Are you sure?" Garmadon asked.

"You're an oni, the oni are incapable of caring, all they do is destroy, so is it any wonder I don't want to embrace my oni side?" Lloyd explained. What he would never say to Garmadon is the real reason why he was scared of using his oni form. (y/n). He loved loving her. The way his heart flutters as her gaze focuses on only him. The feeling in his stomach when he held her in his arms. He didn't want that feeling to go away. Yes it caused him a lot of heartache but it also gave him some of the happiest moments in his life. What if becoming oni made him lose (y/n)?

Again.

"Let's go," Lloyd sighed as he left his note to any of the remaining serpentine.

A bang resonated in the dark, alerting Garmadon and Lloyd. "Did you hear that?" Lloyd asked, "maybe someone's still here? Come on."

Lloyd ran to the direction the sound had come from, not realising that Garmadon lingered behind to leave Christofern in the library.
