Winds Of Change

"Sensei we just got a call, there's a giant fish monster that has been terrorizing a fishing village," Kai informed as he stepped into the command room of the bounty.

Jay, Cole and Zane followed behind Kai. Wu scanned over the Ninja and noticed that two were missing. The Master of Energy and The Master of Wind. "Where are (y/n) and Lloyd?" Wu asked.

The four looked at each other, "we haven't seen them all morning," Jay replied.

"I saw them sneaking out at dawn this morning, something about a patrol," Cole spoke up.

"Young love," Kai sighed, shaking his head.

Their dragons roared as they dived steeply down the side of a mountain. Lloyd glanced over at her. A wild smile stretched across her face as she grinned at him competitively.

Why have dragons if you can't race every now and then?

He urged his dragon forwards, they were head-to-head. The dragons quickly leveled out as they approached the ground. (y/n) was quick to take the lead zig zagging through the canyon they flew through. Lloyd made a move to pass, sneak through an opening but he was cut off by (y/n). Her laughter filled the air. Lloyd shook his head at her as he tried to keep up.

With a flap of his dragons wings he pushed forward, his dragon tucked and rolled, flying over (y/n) and taking the lead. He gave her a wave as he flew by her. He knew she wouldn't give up that easily. He looked over his shoulder to check where she was. She wasn't there. We looked to his left and right. No (y/n). He then looked up as a shadow was cast over him and flying upside down was (y/n) and her dragon. She poked her tongue at him and reclaimed the lead.

The dragons climbed the next peak and landed at the side of a mountain. "I thought you were slow, but it must be your element," (y/n) teased.

Lloyd rolled his eyes and the dragons disappeared. They sat with their legs dangling over the edge. Lloyd wrapped an arm around (y/n)'s waist, she did the same as they sat close to each other. "I wonder if anyone noticed we're missing?" Lloyd wondered.

"Who cares, so what we miss out of chores or something," (y/n) huffed as her grey gi blew in the gentlw winds, "let's just enjoy the view." Lloyd had to agree, it was breath taking, the peak they rested upon laid above the clouds were only a few tips protruded above the cloud line.

"(y/n), what would you do if I became evil?" he asked.

"Where did this question come from?"

He stood up and stared over the horizon, he took a deep breath, he missed his father, and the pain didn't seem like it was going to fade. "I'm the son of Lord Garmadon, and you know what they say, like father like son," he sighed.

(y/n) stood up and laid a hand on his shoulder. "Lloyd Garmadon wasn't bitten by the devourer but in a sense the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree, you both strive to see Ninjago safe and at peace," she assured.

"You didn't answer my question," he snapped, "what would you do if I suddenly became evil?"

"You really want to know." She raised an eyebrow at him, and Lloyd nodded. "I would kick your ass until I knocked some sense back into it, I wouldn't go easy on you," she replied as she playfully whacked him over the head.

He chuckled at her, "why do I feel like I would be the one losing?"

"Because you would lose," (y/n) pointed out.

He cupped her cheek, she leaned into his touch with a smile, he knew that if anything bad should happen, (y/n) would pick up the pieces. He kissed her. A gentle heat spread across his face as she returned his kiss, gentle and loving, the enjoyment of being together with no wars, no danger and no one to interrupt them.
