The wind howled in his ear as he stared over the edge of the cliff, grey clouds covered the ground below, he felt at peace as he leaned against the Sakura tree that blew gently in the breeze. "You're not supposed to be here," a voice called out to him. He spun around, he had only heard that voice him his dreams. As of late that voice had been an echo of once was, it made his stomach do flips. It was not an echo.
"(y/n)," he gasped, she stood before him in her battle suit, a gentle breeze blew her hair to the side. It was her as she once was. Strong, powerful, she wasn't beaten, broken, nor a ghost of her former self, it was her as she been, it was his (y/n). He ran to her open arms, he almost sobbed, there was a gentle warmth he had been missing, she was in his arms again. It wasn't the ghost that haunted them it was actually (y/n).
She leaned back and flicked his forehead, "what were you thinking Beans? You could have been killed if I wasn't there," she scolded as she glanced over his face. Something within her ached as she gazed into his green eyes, there was void in them she had not seen before and she knew exactly how it formed, it formed from her absence.
Lloyd laid his hands on her shoulders, afraid to let her go, "where are we?" He asked.
"Don't change the damn question," she snapped as she jabbed a finger into his chest, "for your information this is the in between, a gateway between the realm of the departed and the living," she explained. "That answers your question now answer mine, what did you think was going to happen if you ran at evil incarnate?" (y/n) demanded.
Lloyd sighed as he brushed a hair from her face. "I don't know," he admitted. "I thought I could turn him, save him like last time but it obviously didn't work."
"Obviously," (y/n) hugged, "and you call me the reckless one." She grumbled. He pressed his lips to hers, he missed this, he missed her, sure she was a ghost, but it wasn't the same. "I can't always be there to save you Lloyd, if I couldn't fight Lord Garmadon what would have happened?" she chided. Lloyd scanned over her face as guilt welled up in is stomach, a guilt that had been growing since her death.
"I don't deserve you, nor your loyalty," he whispered, everything in front of him is what he had lost because of his own stupidity, he didn't deserve a rescue, he failed her, when she needed him most, he was blindsided and that led to her death, there was no more responsible for her death than he was.
She slapped him, "stop, just stop. I've been watching you mope around blaming yourself for things that was out of our control. Yes, I'm dead." She pressed her hand against his chest, "but that won't force me from your side, we have always been there for each other, since day one and Ninjago will burn before I cast myself from you."
He stepped back, "How long?"
"Let's not talk-
"How long were in that prison for? How long did you expect I would come and rescue you? How long before you gave up?" He demanded; his voice choked at the sound of how desperate he was.
(y/n) sighed, she remained frozen, and she grabbed Lloyd's hand, "I remind you that it was not your fault but if you must ask... if I didn't believe you were coming, I'd have died sooner but thinking of you made me fight death in hopes that you would come, I didn't want to leave you but death... it tore me away from the world before I was done. Harumi needed me dead; she knew I had caught on to her treachery and am far too powerful for the Sons of Garmadon to handle."
Lloyd remained frozen as he stared into her eyes, Lloyd shuddered as his hold on her tightened. "I'm lost without you (y/n)," he admitted, "I'm lost, my father is back and you're not there."
"You're not going to like it Lloyd, but sometimes raw emotions can drive power, avenge me," she said as she cupped Lloyd's cheek, "take that sadness and strike a match let it burn, remember who caused this."
