Lloyd gently opened and closed the door to the quarters her shared with the others. They had just forced/ convinced the Munce to attend a meeting with the Geckle's. Thanks to Queen Mya that task was executed relatively easily and now all there was to it was to get the Munce to the meeting spot.
Lloyd sighed in relief, he was glad things were going smoothly... for now. A gentle snore filled the room, Lloyd smiled peacefully as he sat on the edge of the bed. He, Jay and Nya all agreed that it was best that they let her sleep in so that she could regain and conserve her energy.
He brushed a strand of hair from her face and cupped her cheek. (y/n)'s hand rose to hold Lloyd's hand. Slowly her eyes fluttered open, she yawned and stretched. "Morning beans,"she smiled as she sat up.
He kissed her forehead, "morning, are you ready to go we got that meeting set up," Lloyd informed.
(y/n) nodded as she slid out of bed. She summoned her staff, she felt more prepared in her battle suit.
Lloyd took her hand and together they joined the group heading to the meeting.
The Munce and the Geckles growled at each other as they caught sight of one another. They met in front a golden crystal. "Kai?" Nya called out.
"Nya!" Kai smiled as the two siblings ran to each other and hugged.
"Guys!" Lloyd beamed.
"Boy are we glad to see you!" Jay cheered.
"Protect the chancellor!" The Geckles snarled.
"Protect the Queen!" The Munce roared.
The two tribes pointed weapons at each other, Kai and Nay stood in between. "Whoa, whoa, east guys, stand down!" Kai ordered.
"Yeah, relax, it's okay!" Nya followed up.
"Gultch, Greek, nothing is going to happen, okay," Kai assured.
A roar shook the caverns. Lloyd instantly pulled (y/n) behind him as he glanced around for the danger. Giants footsteps came like cracks of thunder.
"That sound," Gleck shook.
"No, it's not possible!" Murtessa quivered.
"What? What is it?" Nya asked.
Emerging from the depth of the darkness was a great undead dragon. "Grief bringer!"
The dragon howled at them, breathing green fire. "Let's see how it likes this," (y/n) snapped.
Lunging from her was the great dragon of the skies. It landed it front of the crowd, roaring at Grief Bringer. The dragon shook its tail and smashed the side of the cavern. "(y/n) you need to run away!" Lloyd pleaded.
"Define run away?" (y/n) questioned.
"leave or escape from a place, person, or situation, please go," Lloyd begged.(y/n)'s dragon would do its best against grief bringer but who knew how long it could last.
"Not without you," (y/n) snapped.
Lloyd's lips crashed into hers, desperate and fearful, "I promise, I'll find you, but please run (y/n)," Lloyd begged.
Nya caught (y/n)'s wrist. "Get them to safety! We're gonna try and slow it down!" Lloyd yelled to them as he turned and ran towards grief bringer
(y/n)'s dragon took to the air and slammed against grief bringer, jaws snapped at each other and living claws ripped at bone. Grief bringer had a size advantage, it twisted and brought its jaws down on (y/n)'a dragon, it disappeared. Lloyd hoped that wouldn't affect (y/n) too badly.
He shook his head, he needed to get his head in the game, prepare to fight. Skeletons marched towards them.
Zane lunged forward to create a wall of ice, "I can't hold it!" He cried out, the fire of the undead dragon was too much.
Zane was beginning to tire, "Lloyd I cannot hold it much longer!" He hastened.
"On three let it go!" Zane looked to him in shock, "trust me! On three!" Lloyd summoned his power, "one!" He thought of all the times it was (y/n) against unwinnable odds. "Two!" He hoped her book worked in all situations because now it was his turn to attempt to wipe out an army, "three!"
With a roar grief bringer lunged through the fallen ice wall. Lloyd hurled a beam of its power at it. Grief bringer was blown backwards. Lloyd gasped and was breathing heavily, it had worked but he felt so tired. He fell to his knees, he wondered how (y/n) did it and never broke a sweat.
"Lloyd!" Zane cried out as he swung his arm over his shoulder.
"(y/n)'s play book is useful but I highly don't recommend trying to wipe out an army it's tiring," Lloyd said in between his gasps for breath. Maybe he shouldn't have let his paranoia get the best of him because (y/n) should slice these guys up like a shredder.
He groaned, grief bringer was getting back up. "We must run!" Zane cried out.
"Where's (y/n) when you have an army at your heels?!" Zane cried out.
Lloyd sarcastically chuckled, he'd give her the biggest kiss in the world for ignoring him and come back to save his dumb ass.
~~~***~~~
(y/n) hated leaving Lloyd, but she saw no other option. She stumbled, she could feel her dragon vanish and return to her defeated, she groaned, it drained her. She frowned in curiosity, it had never drained her like this before, maybe it was because her energy was being diverted elsewhere as well.
"Oh no!" Nya cried out as they stopped at a river of lava. (y/n) simply jumped across, as nimble as a deer over a canyon.
"Oh what do we do now?" Kai asked.
"It's easy, like this," Gleck explained, grabbing onto rope that hung from the ceiling and swung across.
Nya and Jay followed. Kai was hesitant and he jumped but slammed into the wall. "Help," he begged
Nya reached her hand down, "grab my hand!" Kai caught it and Nya hauled him up.
(y/n) stared into the tunnel they had came from, she shook with fear, everything was telling her to go back. Nya caught her wrist, "they'll be here, any second," Nya promised.
(y/n) hung her head, she felt ashamed. "Since when have I ever run from a fight," (y/n) hissed. "Since when did I let fear and caution rule my mind," she snapped.
"(y/n), you're the strongest one of us... (y/n) if you get hurt you could die or lose your kids, could you love that?" Nya questioned.
"I'm a warrior Nya, my life has been nothing but a rock and a hard place," (y/n) replied. Nya let her hand go.
"There!" Nya pointed out. Zane and Lloyd had made it. "Come on swing across!" Nya called out to them, swinging a rope to them.
They swung across. Lloyd took (y/n)'s hand but she wouldn't budge. "(y/n), we have to run!"
"When will you stop treating me like a porcelain doll," (y/n) muttered. The wind began to pick up in the room, stirring up the lava and loose rocks.
The skull sorcerer flew into the room, "grief will find you all!" The skull screeched.
"It's apart of life!" (y/n) answered, she summoned the wind, it roared through the caverns, blowing grief bringer, skull sorcerer and his army backwards. Lloyd pulled (y/n) into the tunnel, she summoned the invisible blade to cut down hanging rocks to block the tunnel.
Lloyd took her hand, Lloyd's eyes practically sparkled, "I love it when you do that."
"Lloyd there are hearts popping out of your eyes," (y/n) sighed. Lloyd swept her off her feet, still keeping the pace they were before.
"I don't care," he smiled. He leaned in closer to her ear, "it turns me on," he whispered.
"Whoa! Not the time for that, we're currently running for our lives!" (y/n) yelled, her face was red as a tomato, she could feel her entire face heat up.
Lloyd laughed to himself as they caught up with the others.
