Why did funeral always have to occur on the sunniest day of the year? Lloyd slowly pulled himself out of bed. Dawn was slowly creeping over the horizon, he sighed deeply. His eyes were dunked in black, he sighed again, "I'm a mess (y/n)," he said to himself. Upon is neck in a small silver chain laid the ring her was given by Mystake to give to (y/n). He wiped the tears forming in his eyes, he didn't want to cry, not before her funeral.

Lloyd didn't know if he could do it. A casket lay upon the gurney in the bridge. He ran his hand across it. Lloyd didn't want to hold a wake for (y/n), he didn't want people to see her so broken, Lloyd knew that she would want to be remembered as she always was, strong, reckless, fearless in the face of danger and free. "Morning Windy," he greeted, he wiped the waterfall of tears that began to flow down his face. He had seen her just last night, but it would never be the same, she wasn't gone but there was no warmth. There would be no cocky grin as he ran into battle with her, never again would there be a playful jab between the two, the bounty already seemed a lot duller. Lloyd rested his head upon the casket. "No matter how many times I say sorry or wish to bring you back, it won't matter because I failed you," he choked. He couldn't stay there without breaking down.

Shakily he walked onto the deck of the bounty, he looked to his left and right, looking for (y/n), a small part of him wished that it was all a bad dream but it wasn't. There was someone else also on the deck of the bounty. "Nya?" Lloyd asked.

She turned to face him, hastily wiping the tears that fell from her face, "I didn't think anyone would be out here," she sniffed. She faced the sun again, her legs dangling over the side of the bounty. Lloyd joined her. Lloyd sat next to Nya silently listening to her cry, now that the threat was over, for now, it was time to mourn. The rush of stopping Harumi was gone and it let reality sink in, "I can't believe she's really gone," Nya cried.

If she hadn't watched Kai and Lloyd carry her body out on a stretcher she would never have believed it. But she was gone. The last Nya would ever see of her friend would be the ghost that had always been there for them on their time of need. "It's unfair, why (y/n)?" Nya whispered. (y/n) in a way was her teacher along with her friend, every time she thought of she thought of how they practiced forms in Wu's old tea shop or how together they summoned a wave powerful enough to destroy the preeminent. She couldn't believe someone as powerful as (y/n) was gone.

Lloyd said nothing, he had been asking himself the same question. "It took her 13 days to die Lloyd, where were we? Why didn't we save her?" Nya questioned.

Lloyd leaned back and stared at the sky as its orange hues mixed with blue, (y/n)'s favourite time of day, he hated the dawn, it would forever remind him that it was just another day without her. Lloyd said nothing again, everyone continuously told him that it wasn't his fault. But it was his fault. Lloyd knew that deep down if he had listened to (y/n) and saw the signs of Harumi's treachery then (y/n) would still be with them.

"She can't be gone this is a trick, (y/n) going to come back, right?" They heard Jay blabber as he walked onto the deck.

"She's gone Jay!" Kai snapped at him.

"Maybe if we talk with the writers in cloud kingdom we could bring her back?" Cole offered. Nya and Lloyd turned around, Zane, Cole, Kai and Jay walked out onto the deck.

They sat next to Nya and Lloyd. "Did you guys sleep at all last night?" Cole asked.

"I wanted to but I couldn't," Jay admitted.

Lloyd remained silent. A jingling reached his ears as they flew over Ninjago city. "What's that sound?" Kai wondered.

"I believe it's wind chimes," Zane pointed out as the musical ringing from the city reached their ears, even the city was saying goodbye to one of its protectors, they too grieved for (y/n).
