(y/n) sat up and ran a hand through her hair. She could hear the gentle snores of her husband that laid next to her, in the darkness she could see the pod in the corner of the room. She could see light peak through the windows, dawn was coming and she laid back down.
She felt lost, as if she was walking through a thick fog. She wondered why she even bothered waking up. Her skin felt sticky, she felt like peeling her skin off and throwing it to the side, she felt disgusting. She was selfish and dishonourable. She had thrown everything she had worked for away. She had let Nya suffer a horrible fate because she couldn't let go of what she had and she felt disgusting because of it. She thought that she would be fine without her power but she felt empty.
Her entire identity stripped away. She was Master of skies no longer. The Unrelenting storm had passed. She was now just (y/n). It was strange, she felt like a completely different person, she trained to keep herself fit and healthy but she wouldn't dare go into combat the way she was now. It's feel awkward, her power would allow herself full control of her surroundings, without it she felt as if her body were made of lead, it further reminded her of what she had lost.
She rolled over and faced away from the sunlight. The old (y/n) would face the dawn but what was the point now. Strengthen the mind > Strength the body > Strengthen Power > Strengthen Soul > Strength mind.
There was just one key element missing. Her power. She could tend to her mind and body but without her power she could never be as strong as she once was.
Lloyd stirred, sat up and stretched. With the coming of the dawn the room slowly became lighter. He gazed over lovingly at his wife, he frowned once her caught her blank gaze staring out at nothing. She felt like a doll as he pulled her into his arms. Every morning was like this (y/n) would stare at the wall and refuse to acknowledge the sunrise, she would be lost to her thoughts. It was like she was in a trance. Some days (y/n) would just lose her appetite and on worse days she would lay around all day but he knew that she wasn't okay if tears began to stream from her eyes. She never answered him when she was like this, she would only cling to him like he was the only thing holding her to the Earth. "Talk to me love," he whispered as he kissed her temple but she said nothing. She just laid in his arms and stared at nothing.
He knew that (y/n) lost a part of herself when she decided to give up her powers. He didn't regret it one bit, she was in his arms, she was by his side. She didn't have to go back to being (y/n) immediately, she could take all the time in the world, what mattered to him is that for the foreseeable future, she was with him.
A wailing sound came from the pod, "looks like Liam and Arwen are up early," Lloyd smiled but it seemed that (y/n) was lost to her thoughts. Lloyd kissed her forehead, "I'll get some breakfast, come out when you're ready," Lloyd suggested
"Hmm," she replied. Lloyd sighed as he picked up the twins. He glanced around the apartment he had bought in the city. He thought that the change in scenery would help (y/n) but it didn't and it seemed that the anniversary of losing Nya made things work. Lloyd perked up at the sound of the bedroom door opening and closing again.
(y/n) gave him as sad smiled and walked over kissing the twins on the head, "mama," Lillium babbled, Arwen was still to find her voice.
"Good to see you're up, how are you feeling today?" He asked. It seemed that her mood darkened and he instantly regretted asking that, of course she wasn't feeling okay.
"You better get to work," she mumbled, "Lillium and Arwen will be fine with me," she assured.
"You sure?" He asked. He didn't like leaving her alone but renting the apartment cost money.
The smile she gave him was sad, it seemed that the bright smiles of love and mischief she once gave him were a memory, "yeah, we're going to the laundromat, the library and the park later," she sighed.
