Rise of the Spinjitzu Master

"Back off!" (y/n) snapped. The Overlord had found out she was hiding people in the sewers and his army was pulling them out one by one, to be evilised by the dragon when it came down from it's perch. She along with a group of others were cornered in an alleyway. She attacked, she leaped forward to land a hit on the Overlord but she was tossed to the side, she gasped for air as the wind was knocked from her lungs. She scolded herself that attack was sloppy and predictable. The Overlord grinned at her as his dark powers drained the essence from the people she was trying to protect. She felt defeated. She promised they would be safe but their hiding place was discovered.

She was the Master of the wind but she was still human and had limitations. The only thing that held that tornado together was sheer will. She felt her bones shake as she stood up again, "no matter how hard you try, you cannot protect them," he taunted as he grinned at her. She could barely stand, she barely had time to rest, it felt like she had been fighting for days. She rolled to the side to dodge the dark matter that flew at her.

"Too slow," she she rasped as she got to her feet shakily. She had been tossed around like a rag doll and was slowly losing her will to fight. She took a deep breath as she fought of the sickening crack when Lloyd's body hit the ground. She found that anger brought out the worst of her abilities and by worse... the most violent.

The Overlord cackled as he grasped her in his tendrils of power. "How will the Green Ninja react when he finds one of his precious friends destroyed," the Overlord jeered as he tossed her to the ground, leaving a notable dent in the ground. A metallic taste filled her mouth, red splattered the ground as she coughed up blood. She dreaded how bad her body would feel when the adrenaline died down. She picked herself up shakily as the Overlord prepared another attack, she dodged it and as soon as she mustered up the strength she bolted.

The only thing she could do was run. Run and hope back up arrived soon.

Sensei Wu, Misako, Jay, Cole, Lloyd, Zane and Kai stared across the sea at the dark clouds that swarmed Ninjago. "The battle for good and evil will be decided today," Sensei Wu concluded.

"And we can't even get to the fight! Much less get off this island," Kai grumbled as he tossed a stone into the sea, frustrated that there was nothing they could do to try and protect Ninjago. Kai turned to Sensei Wu. "There's still one thing I don't get. Sensei, the prophecy said that the Green Ninja would defeat the Dark Lord, why didn't we win?" Kai wondered as he hurled another stone into the ocean.

"I don't know?" Sensei Wu admitted. Instantly Lloyd's mine went to (y/n). She had practically screamed to damn the scrolls and didn't have much of a belief in destiny. The dread welled in Lloyd's chest again, if he could pace he would. He had no idea what was going on across the sea, for all he knew (y/n) had torn up Ninjago city to try and take down the Overlord... or die trying. He'd never admit it but he zoned out? what would she say? He knew the first thing she'd say 'how's your leg?' with the cockiest grin on her face and she began to repeat every single thing he said when she had sprained her ankle. He'd bet on it.

"I used to be nothing but trouble, but then I met you guys. You took me in. Showed me the importance of being brave, the importance of being strong," Lloyd spoke up as his friends turn to face him. He didn't know what (y/n) would say but he had a feeling she would tease him somehow. "And most importantly, being good," he smiled as he tried to put some pressure on his leg. He tried figuring out how (y/n) did it. She was practically in the same state and still somehow moved nimbly without an ounce of support. "When this battle first began, when the first spinjitzu master fought the overlord and his back was against the wall and he knew it was all over, did he quit? No. He found a way to keep the fight going. He passed his elemental powers to us, of all people, a bunch of kids. But there must have been a reason he chose us. I'd like to think it's because he knew we'd never back down, we'd never give up. We've learned the ancient ways of the Ninja and Ninja never quit."
