The Gift of Jay

(y/n) and Lloyd hid on a branch in the tree tops, watching the village. They both looked down, it was a very long drop. The pod was nestled between. "You're turn to watch the kids," (y/n) grinned.

Lloyd caught her wrist, "(y/n) it should be me charging in there," he argued. She raised an eyebrow at him.

"You already had your turn of doing dumb stuff, now it's my turn, admit it I'm faster and a lot more agile than you," (y/n) huffed booping his nose playfully.

"You haven't been out in the field in months (y/n), anything can go wrong," Lloyd argued in a hushed whisper.

"I'll signal you if things go wrong but the sooner we find Misako the sooner you and I can both do dumb stuff and someone can watch the kids," (y/n) sighed.

"Fine, just be careful, just give me a signal when you find them," Lloyd sighed.

(y/n) gave him a wink and fell backwards off the branch, she caught a branch below and swung off it landing on a rope suspended in the air.

She flipped off it and landed in a tree top above what she assumed was the prison. She leaped down and using her staff she knocked out the two guards.

"(y/n)!" Nya cried out. Using the invisible blade she sliced apart the metal bars.

"One moment please," (y/n) said. She turned around and whistled. A few seconds later Lloyd and the pod dropped down behind her.

Lloyd stepped forward pulling his hood off. "Lloyd!" Misako smiled.

"Mum, Master Wu," Lloyd smiled. Misako hugged her son, "are you okay?" He asked.

"Fine, fine," Misako assured.

"You didn't jostle the pod too much on the way down, did you?" (y/n) asked Lloyd as she checked over the outer surface of the sealed baby carrier.

"I'm pretty sure," Lloyd said nervously. (y/n) shook her head at him as she opened the pod to check inside. The peas were still sleeping soundly.

Misako stood beside (y/n), "(y/n) are these..." her eyes seemed to sparkle at the sight of them.

(y/n) closed the pod lid, "I promise I'll properly introduce you to them later but for now we gotta go," (y/n) warned.

"She's right the place is crawling with islanders, we gotta be quick!" Lloyd added.

"We can't go anywhere without Jay," Nya spoke up.

"Where's Jay?" Lloyd asked.

"We don't know, they took him somewhere else," Wu informed.

"Why...?" Lloyd asked

(y/n) heard sounds of movement coming closer, "we don't have time," (y/n) looked to the two research assistants in the back. "Head for camp and get the catamarans ready, take this pod with you and I swear if this pod is so much as scratched, I'll take your heads off," (y/n) threatened. (y/n) had never felt this scared in her life, she felt truly terrified as soon as the pod left with the research assistants.

"(y/n) you're with me, we'll check this way, everyone else head that way," Lloyd directed.

Lloyd and (y/n) moved quick and quietly, checking the buildings in their path, until they circled around to the centre and met up with the others. They stepped out of the shadows as did the others, Jay wasn't with either group.

"You're kidding? Nothing?" Lloyd asked.

"No sign and we looked everywhere," Nya answered.

Lloyd glanced over the group, "what happened to Clutch?" Lloyd asked.
