"Thank goodness you made it through," (y/n) sighed in relief. Their eyes turned towards the golden gates as they opened.
"Welcome to cloud kingdom we've been expecting you," a man from the kingdom greeted. "I'm Fenwick. I've been asked to show you around," he smiled
"Nice to meet you I'm-
"Kai," Fenwick cut off, "yes, we all know. You're quite popular with the other monks. Up here, we see everything that goes on in Ninjago. You've travelled far for the sword of sanctuary, a powerful weapon that can foresee your opponent's next attack," Fenwick described. "It's also the second clue to find the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master."
"Then you must know the hurry we are in," (y/n) spoke up.
"Come, I know Morro isn't far behind." He guided the Ninja up the stairs and into the kingdom. "I must warn you (y/n), Morro will be trying to get rid of you as you are the only thing that stands in his way," Fenwick cautioned.
"Tell me something I don't know," (y/n) sighed.
Fenwick smiled at her, "Kai may be the popular one but you are the most beloved, for we too thought the line of Windsor would end but like myself many of us are excited by your journey," he grinned as he pushed open the door. Monks were writing on scrolls. The whispering increased as they walked past.
"I know you're familiar with the realms. "Cloud Kingdom is just one more of the 16 realms, that exist parallel to Ninjago." Fenwick explained.
"Sixteen realms?" Kai asked.
"In this realm we strive for greater understanding and let go of distractions. There is no television, no video games." Fenwick explained.
"Do you only write?" (y/n) asked.
"Here words matter. You see in Cloud Kingdom we are the writers of destiny. It was here that it was decided that Lloyd should be the green Ninja. and just now that Zane should find his voice again." Fenwick continued.
"If you know what's going to happen next, then you know how important it is to get the sword of sanctuary," Kai added.
"Yes, and I know you made a promise to save your friend, Lloyd. Sadly, we cannot ensure promises, because we are not allowed to choose sides," Fenwick said.
"So, you mean to tell me that everything that has happened if because someone here decided that it would?" (y/n) asked, there was an edge to her voice. She looked around with a frown, her achievements, her climb to the top of Windsor Mountain, it made her blood boil thinking that it was because someone decided to give it to her. Fenwick said nothing more.
Fenwick spun around to face them, he glanced left and right, "no one else will tell you this but we had intended for Morro to stay in the cursed realm," he whispered. "He was never supposed to escape," Fenwick glanced at (y/n), "he somehow defied destiny. and now we're playing catch up" Fenwick laid a hand where Cole's shoulder was, "do you think we wanted you to become a ghost? That's preposterous. Ever since Morro broke free, things have been happening outside of our control. To be honest, we don't know how this will end."
"Talk is cheap Fenwick, we need that sword," (y/n) snapped. She was getting tired of this place. She hated destiny in the first place, she hated feeling controlled by external forces.
"First I must speak with you (y/n), in private," he said as he led (y/n) outside. They crossed a wooden bridge. A building sat in front of them. "Morro isn't the only one to defy destiny..." his smile suddenly became a frown as he pushed (y/n) into the room, Fenwick grabbed (y/n)'s staff. "You were never meant to reach the top," he snarled as he walked away.
