REID WOULD NOT consider himself as a patient person for he was anything but that. To sit for hours and waiting for someone was not something he’d do.
Yet he found himself having no choice as he lied down on the bed and watched Deaton carefully cleaning his wolfsbane infected wounds.
"Hunters," he gritted his teeth, closing his eyes as he barely felt any pain, "I hate them." Wolfsbane affected him like any other werewolf, however, his resistance was much stronger.
He was a hybrid— half werewolf, half vampire. His father was a hybrid as well which was how he was born in the first place. But unfortunately for him, Reid killed him since he was an abusive man. The hybrid was fifteen when he ripped his father’s heart out when he was least expecting it. While most people do not believe in the existence of Supernatural, most werewolves didn't believe in vampires. It just made Reid’s life easier. Werewolves knew him as the most powerful one among them— they had absolutely no idea about him being part vampire.
"You hate them," Deaton repeated, a sly grin tugging at his lips at the boy’s unbothered self, "how was London?"
"Fun," his voice was filled with sarcasm, "until those motherfuckin’ hunters showed up and fucked my vacation up."
"Language," the older man playfully scolded, "vacation? Is that how you're calling it?"
"I can't find her anywhere," Reid sighed, sitting up straight once Deaton was done cleaning his wound. He looked down to find it healing within a second, "great, my favourite shirt’s stained with blood now."
"Maybe she doesn't want to be found," Deaton spoke, dismissing his comment about his shirt earning a scoff from him, "either she's too good at hiding or she's dead. My bet's on the latter."
"You can't think negatively," Deaton muttered, going to wash his hands. His back was facing the seventeen year old as he said, "that's your mother we're talking about."
"Oh you mean the woman who abandoned me? Left me with my crappy father?" Reid stood up from the bed and tugged down his shirt. He clicked his tongue at the sight of the stain before grabbing his jacket and sliding it on.
"If you hate her so much..." Deaton raised his brows, "why are you bothering to find her?"
"To kill her, of course," he grabbed his car keys from the table.
"You lack motherly love and it shows," Deaton commented, staring at the boy who he's known since forever. While he was against his ways of living— he couldn't exactly say or do anything about it.
Reid wasn't one he could try and talk to— to make him understand that killing was not the best option. The seventeen year old was far to deep in to get out.
"What did you do to the hunters who did this to you?" Deaton questioned although he already knew the answers. Reid didn't bother to reply, the older man taking his silence as an answer, confirming his suspicion. "You can't just kill anyone, Reid."
"I can. I did," he remained seated on the edge of the bed, his keys in his hands, "they started it. I wouldn't have done anything to them had they not done anything."
Deaton sighed, "now that you're back, you need to go to school. You're only seventeen, education remains a priority. Don't forget that."
"Of course," he jumped off the bed, "I shouldn't have come back."
"Shut up," Deaton rolled his eyes, nodding towards the door, "and go to school."
"I don't need school," he muttered, "I don't need a job or anything. I already have enough money for me, my children, my grandchildren, my great grandchildren, my great great grand—" his rant was cut off by Deaton, "— I don't care. Go to school. I'm your legal guardian, you do as I say."
Deaton became the boy's legal guardian when his father died since he and his father were friends. However, Deaton had absolutely no idea of how he’d treat his son. When he found out, he was shocked but said nothing and agreed to took Reid under his care.
"Fine," Reid muttered and walked towards the door, his hand enveloping around the handle when he heard, "bye, Reid. Have a good day at school."
"Bye," and then he was out of the clinic, heading straight towards Beacon Hills high in his car.
