THE NEXT DAY, Reid went to the hospital knowing Stiles was there since there was no way he'd sleep knowing his best friend was out with the bad guys while his dad and Scott's mom were both missing.

He and Stiles sat on the bench, both staring at nothing in particular when Reid heard Stiles sigh, "oh, just perfect."

"What?" Reid muttered, looking at Stiles who subtly nodded in the direction of the entrance where Scott's dad, Rafael McCall who was an FBI agent stood, glancing around the place.

"Not the FBI," the hybrid groane, cussing under his breath, "really?"

"Why, you've got history with them?" Stiles questioned out of curiosity and he wasn't surprised when Reid nodded. A smile reached his lips, "that's Scott's dad. A real dick."

"Okay so we hate him?" Reid asked earning a nod from Stiles, "we despise him. Oh god, he's coming this way."

The two teenagers exchanged a look, a wordless agreement that they would both be total dicks to Rafael who stopped right in front of them, a look of recognition on his face as he stared at both Stiles and Reid.

"A Stilinski and a Gray at the center of this whole mess," Rafael spoke up, "what a shocker."

Reid flashed him a blank look. He has seen Rafael entering his house a couple of times in the past, when his father was still alive. The FBI agent had some suspicions regarding the old man and he wouldn't stop poking his nose in their business until Gabriel died.

"Think you can answer some questions without the usual level of sarcasm?"

"If you ask the questions without the usual level of stupid," Stiles replied, sarcasm clear in his tone which made Rafael sigh while Reid's lips twitched up.

"Where is your dad?" Rafael questioned, glancing at Reid who was staring at him without saying anything, "and why's no one been able to contact him?"

Stiles shrugged, "I don't know. I haven't seen him in hours."

"Is he drinking again?" Rafael asked earning an irritated look from Stiles, "what do you mean, 'again?' He never had to stop."

"But he did have to slow down," Rafael said, "is he drinking like he used to?"

"All right, how about this? Next time I see him, I'll give him a field sobriety test, okay?" Stiles grew impatient, "we'll do the alphabet— start with F end with U."

"Means fuck you." Reid added making Rafael look at the hybrid who flashed him a fake smile.

"Ah, Reid." Rafael tutted, "how've you been?"

"Don't ask when you don't care."

"How about you?" Rafael dismissed his words, "can you answer a few questions for me without the usual level of rudeness?"

Reid pursed his lips in a thin line before shaking his head, "no."

"So I've noticed that... ever since you've gotten into this town, a lot of murders have happened." Rafael began, "does it remind you of a certain someone?"

Reid stayed quiet, his eyes staying fixed on his face.

Rafael clenched his jaw, "I'm just saying, don't make me make you a case as I did with your father."

"I'm not my father," the hybrid relaxed in his seat, "and don't be stupid, you don't have proof against anything. You didn't back then, you don't now. You were just desperate for a little promotion so you convinced your fucked up little mind that there is something going on in that family and you've made it your life mission to unravel the non–existent secrets. In the end, you're just delusional."

"I'm not delusional," Rafael shook his head, "I knew something was wrong with your dad. I knew he was doing bad stuff but I never got any proof."

"Because there are no proofs," Reid lied calmly, "there's nothing going on, there never was."

"How about you just tell me what the hell happened here?" Rafael asked, changing the topic as his eyes darted between Reid and Stiles who sighed, "I know what happened here. I was stuck in the elevators the whole time."

"What about you?" Rafael turned to Reid who raised his brows at him, "what about me?"

"Where were you?"

"In the elevators," He replied, "stuck with Stiles. It was painful, really."

Stiles let out a breathless chuckle at his lie, "it was more painful for me."

"But it's okay," Reid looked up at Rafael, "you know, we ended up making out while waiting. Write that in your... little notebook thing."

A look of horror flashed across Rafael's face before he cleared his throat while Reid and Stiles tried to hide their smirks. "I didn't want to know that. That was unnecessary information." After a few seconds, he asked, "you guys are not the one who put the name on the doors, are you?"

Reid and Stiles frowned up at the man, both holding looks of confusion and questioning, "what name?"
