REID DIDN'T STAY TO help when Scott told him that Lydia was the one to find the body. He decided to go to see the Strawberry blonde since he had questions. With the amount of help Scott had to find Boyd and Cora, he figured he didn't need to stick along.
The hybrid returned home and he wasn't surprised when he saw Lydia sitting on the couch in the living room, looking rather disheveled.
Upon hearing the door slamming shut, she looked up and found him standing there, his grey shirt slightly torn and filled with dried blood. She raised her brows at his appearance, her eyes flickering back to his face, "what the hell happened to you?"
"Doesn't matter," he waved her off, walking towards her, "heard you found a dead body."
"You want to know how, don't you?" She questioned earning an amused look from him as he asked back, "you don't know how, do you?"
She bit her lip, shaking her head as he sighed and knelt down by the couch where she was sitting, "all right, are you okay?"
"Do I look okay?" Her voice was low, she still had dried tears staining her cheeks, "I was led to a dead body and I don't know how— there was blood everywhere."
His eyes fell on the keys she was holding tightly in her hand. "Where did you go?"
"I was going to buy some pizza or something," she replied, "I was hungry and... somehow I drove straight to the Beacon Hills swimming pool and..." She let out a shaky exhale, "there was the dead body."
"Okay, give me the keys," he narrowed his eyes at her hand, "you're holding them too tight. You're gonna hurt yourself." But she didn't. She wasn't paying attention to him as the dead body and the bloodied scene replayed constantly on her mind.
Reid sighed as his hand reached out to hers and slowly unwrapped her fingers around the keys, taking it from her. He tossed it on the table before speaking, "are you still hungry?"
She shook her head, "no."
"All right," he stood up, "I'll drop you home then unless you want to spend the night—"
"— Do you mind?" She looked up at him, her voice still low, "I don't want to be alone right now."
"I get it," he gave her a small smile, unsure of why though— maybe because she was his first friend in like forever. "Come on, I'll show you a room."
She stood up, brushing her hair away from her face as she followed him, her eyes falling on his bloodied hands and she stopped walking. "Whose blood is that?"
"Uh— Boyd’s?" He glanced down at his bloodied knuckles as well, "I think. He went rabid, it's a full moon, y’know? Derek and the others are taking care of him as we speak though."
She continued walking as she followed him upstairs, "why aren't you there to help them?"
"I've helped them enough," he replied, "there are others to help them now. I needed to see if you were okay—" he turned to look at her, "— and you're obviously not." She didn't say anything at that and followed him to a room.
The room was simple, with a bed, a TV fixed on the wall in front of the bed and a wardrobe beside, standing against the wall along with a desk near the window which gave a beautiful view of the backyard and two small couches a few feet away from the bed.
"I'm gonna take a shower," she muttered and he nodded before pointing towards a small door in the corner, "have at it."
She then looked down at her clothes, knowing that they weren't the most comfortable thing to wear to sleep.
"Right so there's not really any girl clothes here—" He began, opening the wardrobe to prove his point when she saw that it was empty with only towels, "— I could go back to your place and grab you clothes or you could wear mine."
"Would that be okay with you?"
"Of course," he shrugged, "I wouldn't have suggested it if it wasn't." She couldn't help but roll her eyes at that, "we have school tomorrow, what about that?"
"Seeing a dead body is a traumatic experience—" He started and she shot him a look, knowing where he was going with this, "— no. I'm going, you are too, by the way."
"Whatever you say," he muttered, sighing, "I'll drop you home like an hour before school."
"Sounds good," she nodded and caught the towel he grabbed from the wardrobe and tossed at her. "If you need anything, my room is right across yours."
