"YOU'RE SURE IT was her?" Sheriff Stilinski shot the three boys a questioning look.

Reid nodded to which Stiles add, "it makes sense, Dad."

"But it wasn't a girl—" Sheriff Stilinski sighed, "it was a four-legged coyote, right?"

"Well, okay..." Stiles trailed off, "but yeah, see, that's the point that we don't exactly have figured out yet."

"Okay, but if it was a full moon, and she did change while her mom was driving, then anything could have happened—"

Stiles cut Scott off with an explanation of his own, "—Horrible things could have happened! Ripping, shredding, tearing things—" he was then intereipted by Reid who added, "— which was probably the cause od the accident."

"Think about it Dad, all right?" Stiles looked at his father expectantly, "they're driving. Malia starts to change. She goes out of control, the mom crashes, and everybody dies—"

"—Except for Malia." Scott cut in as Stiles continued, "so, she blames herself, all right? Goes off running into the woods, and eventually becomes trapped inside the body of a coyote."

"That makes sense..." Sheriff Stilinski muttered with a nod before groaning, "in a Chinese folktale! Boys, this is— this is insane."

"Look, you know about the existence of werewolves, okay?" Reid began, "this isn't as insane as it sounds."

"All right," Stilinski sighed, "I need this kept quiet. The three of you? Not a word. I don't want anyone hearing about this. I especially don't want Mr. Tate hearing about this. Okay?"

"Okay," Stiles nodded making the sheriff flicker his eyes to Reid who rolled his eyes but nodded as well, "fine."

He then looked at Scott and awaited an exact response from him. However, Scott was lost in thoughts, staring blankly at a rock behind them. "Scott? Scott!" Hearing his name being called snapped him back to reality, "sorry... What did you say?"

Before the sheriff could reply, the sound of a car pulling near his made the four look behind to find Rafael and Mr Tate stepping out to walk towards them.

"Aw, hell..." Sheriff Stilinski groaned as the man approached them, "Mr. Tate."

Without bothering to say anything, Tate reached out to grab the blanket that Stilinski was holding. He brought it close to his face, "it's hers."

"Gray," Rafael looked at Reid with distaste clear on his features, "you're friends with my son?"

"That's funny," Reid flashed the FBI agent a fake smile, "we're actually more than friends, why? Don't you approve?"

"Aren't you with..." Rafael pointed towards Stiles who looked amused by the whole situation, "him?"

"Okay, you got us," Reid threw his hands in the air dramatically, "we have freaky threesomes every now and then, so what?"

"All right, you're very funny." Rafael rolled his eyes at the teen, realising that he was just joking. Cursing himself internally for not realising that earlier, he looked at Scott, "wait here."

"Dad—"  Rafael interrupted Scott, "I'll talk to you in a minute. I wouldn't mind hearing how your mom's okay with you running around in the woods this late."

"We were making out. She gets it." Stiles spoke which only resulted in a sigh from Rafael and a shake of his head before he walked away with the Sheriff.

Scott turned to his friends, amusement clear on his face, "okay, have you two made it your life mission to annoy my dad like that?"

"I mean..." Reid shrugged, "it's fun seeing him all riled up like that."

"Right?" Stiles smiled in agreement, "hey, did you know that he knew Reid's dad?"

"Wait," Scott raised his brows, "is that why he was looking at you like you killed his cat or something?"

"He thought that my dad was into illegal stuff and made it his mission to expose him and shit." Reid responded with annoyance in his voice, "he's lucky he didn't fuckin’ kill him. Would've raised suspicion."

"Was he though?" Scott proded, "I mean, was your dad doing illegal things?"

"Yeah," he nodded with a clear of his throat, "you guys know how he robbed a bank, right? Well money doesn't last so yes, he was."

"So that means you are too then?" Scott's question made Reid roll his eyes as he half–lied, "no, I've just taken all the money he made from those shit and I'm living on it."

"Interesting," Scott muttered just as his phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and read the message which was from Lydia, telling him to tell Reid to come at his place. Clicking his tongue, he looked up at Reid and Stiles who were already looking at him questioningly.

"It's Lydia, she's..." Scott paused, looking at Reid, "waiting for you at your place."

Reid took a second to wonder why she didn't just text him only to remember that he left his phone at home since it was dead. He only nodded at Scott in response.

"She knows the passcode and I don't?" Stiles asked dramatically, "now, how unfair is that, hmm? I'm one of your best friends."

"Best friends?" Reid repeated, surprise filling his features. Scott raised his brows, "yeah, of course."

"Wait, seriously?" He gave them an unsure look, "I mean, I— I've never really had... friends let alone best friends before."

"Dude, we've been hanging out for months, okay?" Stiles took a step closer to him and placed his hands on either sides of his shoulders, "you're great, I love you– platonically. We're like... a trio now, got it?"

"What he said," Scott nodded in agreement, "and hey, don't go around revealing my crush on Kira."

"So I was right," he flashed him a grin, "you really have a crush on her."

"I mean, I don't even know her but... I guess," Scott began rambling, "I mean, she's pretty and seems nice. But after Allison, I'm not... I don't think I—"

"— Dude, Allison's over you." Reid blurted out, "she's kinda into Isaac now from what I can tell. It's time for you to move on."

"What he said," Stiles pointed to him with a nod, "move on! Go for it."

"I will," Scott straightened up, a smile tugging at his lips, "I'm totally gonna go for it."
