LAN ZHAN AND WEI YING'S ETERNAL DESTINY BOOK 3

CHAPTER 26

Lan Zhan felt Wei Ying's pain, he felt it all over again, he thought he would atleast listen to him or go back with him but that wasn't the case. His spirit returned to his body, not wanting to stay there much longer because if it did then Wei Ying would never come back. He sat there for a few minutes and felt that the place was peaceful and it would be good if he meditated because he wouldn't be able to do that at home since he heart was in strike. Banging loud that it's fast beats were the only thing he could hear. He breathed in and out three times then started his meditation. By the time he opened his eyes it was already dark and by the looks of it, he had been meditating for atleast three hours.

He stood up and went home, wondering if Wei Ying was home yet. When he reached the Jingshi he realised that he wasn't there, now not being sure if he would come or not, he decided to go get their food in the kitchen . There was a lot in his mind but what surprised him was Wei Ying speaking to him out of his body. He knew the spirit could only go out and leave the body still, standing, sitting, or even lying. But he had realised that Wei Ying's body was moving while his spirit was talking to him, he would rub his nose three times using his pointy finger while his spirit was taking to him.

"When did Wei Ying reach that level? He just got his powers a few days ago. But how can he do what he did so early without even practicing for a long time. Even the barrier he set was a bit strange....what kind if powers does Wei Ying have?"
Lan Zhan thought. It didn't make sense to him, maybe it was because they hadn't known each other that well that he didn't understand. Also...Wei Ying's powers had been shut all the while and when they were returned, they started to fight. Lan Zhan was exhausted from all that.

He reached the kitchen and found that the maidens were finishing preparing the meals of his uncle and his brother, and also his. The food was for him and Wei Ying and he remembered how Wei Ying just ate his food like he wanted to feel his stomach and looked like he didn't enjoy it. He greeted the maidens whilst he was outside the kitchen door and the chief maiden walked out of the kitchen to meet Lan Zhan. He told her that he wanted to cook something and that his food be reduced to that of one person. The chief maiden didn't ask any question but just walked inside and expIained to the maidens what they needed to do and when she was done she came out to let Lan Zhan know that the were done preparing.

Lan Zhan didn't go in even after knowing that they were finished, the chief maiden was confused seeing Lan Zhan standing there but a voice was heard behind Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan didn't bother to Lok back because he already knows who it was.

"Wangji cannot share the same space with women, if the maidens are finished preparing the food then let them come out. But first, they need to clean the kitchen because he cannot step foot in an untidy place. Hear me out....from this day onwards...no maiden is allowed to food to Wangji. I myself will find a desciple to be responsible for that. If you're done then you may leave. But please check if there's more ingredients in there, especially chilly flakes, chilli powder and fresh chilli. I know we keep some just for our guests so there must be enough ingredients in there that we don't use in our clan."

The chief maiden greeted her soon to be clan leader and went inside the kitchen to give more orders to the maidens. They prepared everything that was needed and went out after cleaning the kitchen spotless. They went out with their trays and greeted the Lan brothers and excused themselves and took the food to Lan Xichen's Hanshi and Lan Qiren's house too. Lan Xichen didn't have the similar problem Lan Zhan did with everyone being crazy for him.

This was because Lan Zhan was the most handsome between the two brothers, but because he lacked expressions making them unable to see what he looks like when he's happy, smiling, sad or angry they didn't know what he really looked like. He was then made the Second Childe and because Lan Xichen whad those expressions though he rarely became angry and always smiled to everyone, they made him the rated him the First Childe. But it's not like he wasn't handsome enough, it was merely because he would soon be the Clan Leader they should all respect, so no one dared to show their affections for him.

And no one was desperate enough or shall we say breve enough to pull a stunt like the one the young maiden pulled. Lan Xichen went inside the kitchen with Lan Zhan after the maidens left and he wanted to watch him cook. He knew he loved his clan food and if he was in the kitchen that meant he was cooking Wei Ying something.

"Wangji...do you know what Wei-Gonzi prefers to eat?"

" I don't know, I wanted to cook something that has less herbs, only important ones in the meals with a little salt"

"(*Light chuckle*) so Wangji...you want to cook for him but you don't know what he likes?...well...let me help you out little brother. He eats very spicy food, a little more salty and thick soup. Pork rib soup is his favourite cooed together with lotus roots, fish and pork meat. There you go, I'm sure you will be able to find those here. I'll check for you."

" But xiongzhang...how did you know what he likes to eat?"

" Well...you forget that I spent two while months with him while you were 'sleeping' so of course I would know."

Lan Xichen chuckled at his brother's reaction and went to check the ingredients. He found them but no pork ribs, so Lan Zhan ended up cooking lotus root soup and added a little more spices and salt with stewed peppers, onions and garlic cloves with sliced pork meat. He began to cook the meals and within an hour and a half he was finished. His brother was with him the whole time and he was impres6eith Lan Zhan's skills in cooking. He helped him carry his food while he carried the one he had prepared for Wei Ying and went to the Jingshi.

When Lan Zhan opened the door to the Jingshi he was surprised and happy to find Wei Ying there, waiting for him with a jar of wine which he tried to hide behind him when he saw Lan Xichen also coming in.

"Ah! Zewu Jun...good evening..."

"Wei-Gonzi...good evening, (*chuckle") Wei-Gonzi...please don't bother yourself, I already know what your carrying behind your back. You can feel free to drink infront of me "

Lan Xichen said and smiled, he looked at his Dìdì and went to the dining room where he placed the tray of food followed by Lan Zhan. Lan Xichen saw that as an opportunity to talk to his brother and he said...

"Wangji...please be honest with him, I can sense both your painful hearts, and I can understand Wei-Gonzi's feeling about this whole matter. Please open up to him and don't break his heart and trust again."

He placed his hand on Lan Zhan's shoulder, patting it a few times and went out.

"Wei-Gonzi...please have a pleasant evening, I hope to see you happy tomorrow when I come meet you"

With that, Lan Xichen left while Lan Zhan was busy preparing the meals for both him and Wei Ying. He was so happy that he was back and with that, he knew he had only one shot to make it all right by him. He promised himself to be as open and clear as he could be to him because it had gotten to where being honest with him was a matter of life and death.
