LAN ZHAN AND WEI YING'S ETERNAL DESTINY BOOK 3

CHAPTER 39

The thought of him saying all those things to Lan Zhan, the things he had done to him looked silly and he felt embarrassed to even look at him. A  higher being who looked human in flesh but not in every way. He promised himself to not do anything of that sort ever again, no more provoking, no more silliness and certainly...less intimacy.

It has been three months since Lan Zhan and Wei Ying came back eliminating the root of evil, the two creatures. The remaining evil was not that much and not too powerful, which led to Wei Ying going out on night hunts with the desciples to take care of them. Lan Zhan would stay home and assist his brother who had already become the Lan clan leader a month ago. There was just too many things to do and Lan Zhan was always happy to assist his brother in anything needed to be done. It was less tiring when they worked together and Lan Xichen was so grateful to his Dìdì for helping him and also proud since he didn't need to be taught how to do some of the clan leader's responsibilities.

Wei Ying was more than happy for Lan Xichen but very happy that Lan Zhan was helping him, which meant they had less time to see each other. He had been purposefully been avoiding Lan Zhan since they came back three months ago. He remembered promising himself not to go overboard with Lan Zhan since he was a higher being than him...he thought. But the other thing was that he was very worried about being intimate with Lan Zhan, he knew he was absorbing some of his powers and he was afraid that someday he might get sick or his powers might get lower and that meant he would not be as powerful as he is.

Lan Zhan had already realised that Wei Ying was avoiding him but he couldn't get time to ask since when he came back home late he would find Wei Ying waiting for him to have his meals, already done bathing and all. When they finish eating he would make an excuse to Lan Zhan that he was so tired with all the evil spirits killings and he would go to his room and close the door before going to sleep. Lan Zhan couldn't bring himself to ask him to stay since he saw that he was sometimes tired, but when he was not tired would make another excuse  of meditating before going to sleep which took him two hours and by the time he was finished Lan Zhan would already be asleep. He didn't know why Wei Ying was trying to change who he was and how he was all because he knew about the origins of the evil creatures. He couldn't think of anything else.

He was with his brother in his brother's Hanshi and they were busy signing the important papers and Lan Xichen was curious and had to ask.

"Wangji...what's going on between you and Wei-Gonzi? I thought you were getting along well until I heard the desciples tell me that he would tell them to spend the night in the forest and that he would sleep in a tree."

"But xiongzhang...that's normal for anyone who goes night hunting, maybe he saw that they were tired to get back home immediately."

"Wangji...they said he told them that he would rather spend as much time as he needed in the forest than here in Cloud Rescessess. Don't you find this a bit strange? I mean...I mean...I have told uncle the day after my leadership coronation that Wei-Gonzi would be staying here with us. And yes you know uncle, he refused saying Wei-Gonzi bothers you and doesn't follow the Lan Clan rules, and no matter how many times  I asked as a clan leader he still refused. That was until I used my right as his nephew and that's when he agreed to it. I didn't tell him all the details but he knows something is not how it was back then, especially your relationship with Wei-Gonzi."

So... if uncle is not bothering him, then why would he choose to stay in the forest if not because you two have fought...hhm?"

Lan Zhan thought for a second and looked at his brother and asked with disbelief but happy...

"Xiongzhang...you asked uncle already? Thank you!"

"No problem...you deserve to be together anyway, it wouldn't be right if we were to separate you two. So just let me know if you need any help and I will not hasitated to assist, as long as it's something that I, a mere mortal can do. Anyway...don't change the subject, what happened between you two that makes him avoid you like this "

"Xiongzhang...I didn't realise it then but I think he feels like he is not worthy to stand besides me , the way he treats me these days is not what I'm used to. The Wei Ying I know doesn't care about anything or anyone as long as he was happy. But now, after we came back , he's acting more like a servant than my soulmate. Could it be because of the what I told you about?"

"Could be, but Wangji....don't forget to take care of his feelings ok, just listen to him and if he doesn't want to talk then respect his decision. Ok?" Now you can go, you also need to prepare his meals first so you can go and I'll finish these. Atleast these are the last papers to be sorted so don't worry about it, I'll take care of it, just take care of Wei-Gonzi ok?"

Lan Zhan nodded his reply and stood up and headed to the kitchen after bidding his brother good night. It was already afternoon and Wei Ying and the desciples had since gone night hunting three days ago. Lan Zhan wasn't worried since he knew that Wei Ying was capable of taking care of himself and the desciples. He finished cooking Wei Ying's dishes and went to the Jingshi and placed the food tray accordingly on the dining table, hoping that Wei Ying comes back and not spend another night hunting. He went to the washroom and took his time bathing and when he accidentally rubbed his abdomen he felt the overwhelming feeling that he had missed for almost four months now. He missed Wei Ying.

Not to dissapoint, Wei Ying did come back after spending three nigh in the woods, he first went to greet the clan leader and told him the report of their journey and after that they talked about random things until Lan Xichen hinted on why he always likes to go night hunting. Wei Ying didn't try to hide anything, he told Lan Xichen he felt like he wasn't worthy but the other thing that worried him the most was the fact that everytime he had intimated connection with Lan Zhan he was making him weak and in a way absorbing his powers. Lan Xichen listened and after Wei Ying explained how he felt so relieved that he now knew the reason and it was easy to solve when Wei Ying told him something he thought he couldn't do again.

"Zewu Jun...please don't tell Lan Zhan about all this..."

" Wei-Gonzi... does Wangji refuse to listen to you when you want to talk?

"No"

"Does he tell you things you don't like or that make you feel unhappy? If so then I apologize."

"No, Zewu Jun...please don't apologize, he hasn't done anything bad or spoke things I don't like. It's...I..he...what if he looses his powers and I loose him? I won't be able to take it Zewu Jun, already with me avoiding him means there will be no intimacy to soil his reputable status. Zewu Jun...I'm fine...you don't need to worry about me"

"I'm not only worried about you but I'm also worried about my brother, will he survive since you gave him a taste of something and now you don't want to give it to him again because you think he deserves better?... Wei-Gonzi...don't say that infornt of Wangji because I didn't know how he will react to that, you might not survive. Anyway....I'm not going to help you keep this secret, you should go tell him what he needs to know. Don't you think you should always have courage to talk to him about the things that bothers you? How long are you going to keep secrets from him when he already knows you're keeping them and waiting for you to tell him?
Wei-Gonzi...go...Wangji is waiting for you"
