Sunoo's POV
"Wake up sleepyhead." I rubbed my eyes as Minho woke me up, standing at the right side of my bed, brushing his teeth.
"Okay early bird..." Damn, I may need Sunghoon's wake up service. I got up and took a bath. The bathroom was more than the size of the room I rented at the old man. We also had breakfast that Mrs. Sunja cooked. Then we rode the van again to the restaurant, there were already people in line waiting for the door to be opened. I heard the people cheer as they saw Mrs. Sunja exit the van and use her key to open the door.
My shift started as usual, serving foods, Karina being clingy, Minho being a grumpy old man, but I also had the time to bond with Mingyu, Sana, and Beomgyu more. Mingyu said he already has a girlfriend but is just naturally flirty, same with Sana. Beomgyu though is very outgoing, singing while washing plates. I never knew someone could enjoy washing the dishes like Beomgyu lol.
But then men in black suits came in the restaurant, I was a bit nervous to come close to them, but I did it anyways. "Table for how many sir?"
"Six." The man took his glasses off, and I led them to a table for six and handed them menus. When I was done taking their orders, Karina noticed them too and said that it was the first time those men came here. Karina helped me bring the food to them. I couldn't help but to take a look of the men, but everytime I did, that man with the glasses kept looking at me.
I was serving foods to other customers when I saw that man again mouthing "Bill out" and signaling it with his hands. I handed them the bill but before I left, the man called me "Kim Sunoo, right?" I felt my heart pound, how did he know my name?
I turned back "Yes... t-that's me."
"Do you know Mr. Lee? The man your dad was working for?" Mr... OH! THAT Mr. Lee! I almost forgot he existed because of how comfortable my job is.
"Yes, I have heard of him..."
"He wants to negotiate with you, he knows you're in a tough spot right now, and coincidentally, he also needs someone who can work for him. And you won't need to continue working or living here, Mr. Lee will give you 1 million won a month, but it can get bigger if you stay there. Plus, we, Mr. Lee's workers, also have our seperate houses, cars, some of us even has businesses. So, think about it carefully. I'll come back tomorrow." After that long speech of his, he handed me the bill, but on the top of it, there was a card.
"02-555-1234 - Jihoon Choi" I didn't know what to do, why so sudden? And why now that I already had such a nice job? But 1 million won is tempting, but what if it's a scam. Being an overthinker is hard, but it kinda saves me in tough situations. I decided to keep the card for myself, and not tell the others about it. I'll also need a proof that what he was talking about is real.
I continued my work, but I still can't get my mind off that man. If it was real, I think I will take it. I... really need it. When we got back home, Minho noticed me spacing out "Hey, what's up with you?"
I looked at him and rubbed my eyes "Nothing, just tired and sleepy."
"Just sleepy? You've been acting kind of strange," Minho said as he folded his arms across his chest.
What does this boy mean? I raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean, strange?"
"You're usually so lively and energetic and annoying, but today you're just... spaced out," He said, scolding me like he's my older brother.
My lips curled into a playful smirk, and I shot back, "Why do you suddenly care so much about my personal business? You're usually the one who doesn't bother with that stuff."
