Heeseung's POV
I couldn't stop pacing. The room felt too small, the air too thick. San had been gone for hours now, and every minute that passed made my gut twist tighter.
"Didn't he text something to anyone of you?" Sunoo asked, his voice lacer with concern.
Niki shook his head, looking up from where he was tending to Jay. "He said he'll just buy a cigarette..."
"They probably already took him," I growled, my mind racing through possibilities, each worse than the last. "We better get ready to get him bac-"
*DING*
The sound cut through the tension like a knife. All eyes snapped to my phone on the table.
I snatched it up, heart pounding. A video message. Unknown number.
As soon as I hit play, I knew. This was it. The moment everything changed.
San's face filled the screen, bruised and bloodied. He was tied to a chair, but instead of a grimace of pain filling his face, there, there was still his usual cocky grin. Then Nayoon stepped into frame, her cold smile actually sending chills down my spine.
"Hello, Heeseung," she purred, running a hand through San's hair. He flinched away, and I felt my blood boil. "Your friend here decided to pay us a little visit. Wasn't that nice of him?"
I gripped the phone tighter, knuckles turning white.
Nayoon's smile widened. "If you want to save your friend, come and get him. Just trace your friend's phone."
The video cut out, leaving me staring at a black screen. I could hear the others shifting behind me, knew they'd heard enough to understand.
"Get ready." I said, and without waiting for a response, I stormed upstairs and out of the club.
The cool night air hit me like a slap, but I barely felt it. My mind was already racing, plans forming and discarding in rapid succession.
I pulled out my phone, dialing a number I knew by heart.
"Sir?" Mingi's gruff voice answered on the first ring.
I said without preamble. "I need men. Wait for my signal."
"On it," Mingi replied, no questions asked. That's why he was my right hand. "How many?"
"All of them," I said. "Every single person we've got. This is it."
I could almost hear Mingi's nod. "Consider it done. Anything else?"
"Yeah," I said, already dialing another number. "Weapons. Everything we've got."
"Okay. We'll be ready."
I hung up, immediately connecting with Wooyoung.
"Sir?" He sounded surprised. I rarely called him directly.
"I need cars," I said. "Fast ones. Armored. Bulletproof. As many as you can get here in the next hour."
There was a pause, then, "How many we talking?"
"Enough for an army," I replied.
A low whistle. "Whoa, okay. This is big, isn't it?"
"Bigger than big," I confirmed. "Can you do it?"
"Consider it done. I'll start making calls now."
"Thanks, Wooyoung. I owe you one."
"Add it to my payment," he joked, but I could hear the tension underneath.
