Heeseung's POV
The soft chime of the alarm pulled me from the depths of sleep. I reached over to silence it, ensuring Sunoo wouldn't be disturbed. This was a new beginning for us, a fresh start, and I wanted it to be perfect.
Quickly and quietly, I packed the few belongings we'd need for our trip. The anticipation bubbled inside me as I headed to the bathroom, needing the coolness of a shower to chase away the remnants of sleep.
Sunoo's peaceful face was a serene sight when I returned to the bedroom. I woke him gently, whispering in his ear, "It's time to go Sun."
He stirred, and a sleepy smile graced his lips. It was a genuine smile, and it filled my heart with warmth. It was a sign that he was happy, that he wanted this as much as I did.
We got ready side by side, an unspoken connection between us. I watched Sunoo, admiring his every move, his grace and beauty. He seemed content, and that was all I'd ever wanted.
"Wear this Sun, this will look good on you." I showed him a necklace.
"Oh okay, why does it have a hyphen?" He asked, observing the necklace.
"It's symbol of a connection of two people, two worlds. Bound to love each other." I said.
"...Cheeeeesy..." He teased. I went behind him and wore the necklace on him. "Looks good on you." I said as I burrowed my head in his neck.
"Shall we go?" He asked, and I nodded with a determined smile on my face.
As we rode in my car through the dark, quiet roads, we sang together, music from the car filling the space between us. "Igil su eopdeon fighting, bleeding, losing ijen jichyeosseo, gajil su eopdamyeon I FUCKIN' keep it low!"
Our voices were off-key, but they were our voices, and they sounded beautiful to my ears. At times, we just screamed our hearts out, releasing the pent-up emotions of the past. "I'M A LOSER! I'M A LOVER! LOVER WITH A DOLLAR SIGN IS A LOSER!!!"
We stopped to buy food, and Sunoo's laughter in the convenience store was the sweetest sound. It filled me with joy. We stopped at a grassy field, we spread a blanket beneath the stars, our meal laid out before us. The stars shone above, like a promise of something better.
We ate in comfortable silence, a world of shared experiences and unspoken words between us. As we gazed up at the night sky, Sunoo's hand slipped into mine. It was a simple touch, but it held so much meaning.
The beauty of the universe above us reflected in his eyes, and in that moment, I knew that we had a future together, away from the darkness of the past. Sunoo and I, free to make our own choices, to create our own destiny, to define our love the way we wanted it.
The night was still young, and so were we. Our journey was just beginning, and I couldn't have asked for a better companion by my side.
I looked at Sunoo, a smile curving my lips, and I whispered, "I love you."
He turned to me, his eyes alight with a happiness that mirrored my own. "I love you too, Heeseung."
In that quiet field beneath the stars, our love felt real, genuine, and full of promise.
As we resumed our journey, Sunoo's drowsy eyes betrayed the weariness that lingered. I couldn't help but tease him, "All those hours of sleep at the house didn't do the trick?"
He chuckled softly, a sound that warmed the car's interior. "Guess not. I blame it on my excitement."
I glanced at him, noting the fatigue etched on his face. "You can sleep, you know. We've got a long way to go."
