Sunoo's POV
"What?!" I exclaimed, disbelief coursing through me as Jake dropped the news about Sunghoon's amnesia. My mind raced, processing the revelation that the person I thought I knew so well was now living with fragments of memories.
"But, how does he remember me?" I questioned Jake, urgency in my voice. The idea of Sunghoon not recognizing me sent a chill down my spine.
Jake sighed, "We've been helping him recover, and he's been getting flashbacks sometimes. It's a slow process, but he's trying, he really is. I'm even surprised how committed he is."
I voiced my concern to Jake, "I hope he didn't change that much. We'll both have a hard time adjusting with each other because of that."
Jake tried to reassure me, "Sunghoon said that he's determined to make things right between you two."
Feeling a sense of guilt, I reflected, "I... I just feel so fucking dumb and guilty. If I hadn't taken Heeseung's offer, none of this would've happened, literally. Like, think about it."
Jake offered consolation, "Oh, It's okay. Eventually, we'll be happy and peaceful again. It's impossible Heeseung has another surprise card like Niki, and speaking of Niki, he's already on our side."
I nodded, "I really hope what you're saying will be true this time."
Just as Sunoo finished, Sunghoon himself knocked at the open door, causing both Jake and me to jolt. "Sunoo, can we talk?" he asked, a vulnerability in his eyes. I looked at Jake, seeking some assurance, and he nodded, giving me the permission to follow Sunghoon outside.
In the quiet hallway, Sunghoon's gaze met mine. "What do you want to talk about?" I asked, the weight of uncertainty heavy in the air.
"Sunoo, you know about my amnesia now," Sunghoon began. "I understand this might be hard for both of us."
I nodded, urging him to continue.
Sunghoon continued, "I've been getting flashbacks of our memories. I know what I'm seeing from the past was real. I can feel it..."
"Thank you for trying to remember," I expressed my gratitude, my voice filled with a mix of emotions. "Thank you for trying to remember me."
Sunghoon gently held my face, his eyes reflecting sincerity. "I'm sorry if the passion is not there, but I'll try hard to make you feel the love that you were used to feeling from the past me."
I reached for Sunghoon's hand, reassuring him, "No, no, all I care about now is you. We can start new memories."
After a short silence, Sunghoon embraced me in a warm hug, and with a genuine smile, he whispered, "Thank you."
As we held each other, I couldn't hold back the words any longer. "I love you."
Heeseung's POV
Entering the mansion, I was met by the grandeur of the surroundings. The maids gracefully opened the door, leading us into the mansion. There, I spotted my mom dressed in a full black outfit with a luxurious fur coat. She sipped her tea, the final sip before handing the cup to a maid, and then enveloped me in a tight hug, "Oh Dear! I've missed you so much!"
"I've missed you too, Mom," I replied, returning the embrace.
She pulled back, cupping my cheeks in her hands as she observed me from head to toe. "You look like a mess. Have you been getting into trouble?" she inquired, concern etched on her face.
