Sunoo's POV
It was lunch break, I sat on a bench in the school courtyard, trying to enjoy a few moments of peace during lunch break. But the presence of the two guards assigned by Heeseung made it anything but peaceful. They sat down on either side of me, and I couldn't help but feel the weight of their watchful eyes.
I cleared my throat nervously, attempting to break the ice. "You know, you guys don't have to sit here. I can eat on my own," I said, my voice quivering with embarrassment.
To my surprise, they remained silent, their eyes unwavering. I had a sinking feeling that no matter what I said, these men would stick to their orders.
Deciding that conversation might be my only way out of this awkward situation, I took another bite of my lunch and turned to the one on my right. "So, what's your name?"
Still, silence.
I looked at the other guard on my left, growing increasingly uncomfortable. "You know I can replace you two with only one word I speak to Heeseung right?"
They exchanged a glance, and the one to my right, the one who had a slightly softer expression, spoke up, "I'm Kang Taejin."
I sighed with relief that at least one of them had a willingness to communicate. "And your name?" I asked the other guard.
He finally replied, "I'm Choi Minseok."
I nodded, managing a small smile. "Well, it's nice to meet you both, even though I wish it were under different circumstances."
Taejin and Minseok remained stoic, but at least they had acknowledged me.
I decided to press a little further, hinting at a possible retribution in the future. "You know, when I get out of this...mess, I'll remember your names. Just in case. I'll know whose head to cut off." I wasn't sure what my plan might entail, but I needed some semblance of control.
Their silent exchange continued until I finished my meal, my thoughts in turmoil. While I still felt trapped, at least I'd made a small connection with the guards. With any luck, perhaps there was a chance for me to find a way out of this situation, one way or another.
Heeseung's POV
Seohyun and I had just finished watching the latest installment of the "Saw" franchise,"Saw X", complete with its brutal traps and twisted games. We clinked our wine glasses as the credits rolled.
"You know," Seohyun commented, "those traps are so elaborate. You could use something like that if you were a modern John Kramer, to deal with anyone who crosses your path."
I chuckled, "You're right, that's a good idea, but I'm no expert when it comes to intricate mechanisms."
As I was about to make a joke about recruiting engineers for my revenge schemes, my alarm interrupted. It was time for Sunoo's class to end.
I picked up my phone and called Minseok, one of the guards assigned to Sunoo. "Is everything on track?" I asked.
Minseok's voice came through on the other end. "Yes, Mr. Lee. We're on our way back home with Mr. Lee Sunoo. He's safe and sound."
I nodded, pleased with their efficiency. "Good job, you two. Tell Taejin that both of you will be getting a bonus for your work."
Minseok thanked me, and we exchanged a few more words before I ended the call.
