Sunoo's POV

I awoke to the harsh reality of my situation, the weight of the tracking device on my leg a constant reminder of the horrors that had transpired the night before. Karina's face, her sacrifice for helping Sunghoon and me hide, haunted my thoughts, and I couldn't hold back the sobs amd guilt that wracked my body.

I wiped away my tears and pushed myself out of bed, trying to regain some semblance of composure. "Good morning, Mr. Kim, breakfast is ready" the maid greeted me as I entered the dining room. Her expression was kind, but her eyes held a glimmer of pity. She knew what had happened, what I had become entangled in.

I mumbled a greeting in return and took a seat, pushing the food around my plate but not really eating. My appetite had all but disappeared amidst the turmoil of my situation

Each bite felt like ash in my mouth as I mechanically chewed, my mind racing with thoughts of escape. The maid informed me that Heeseung had left for a meeting, offering a small glimmer of hope in the darkness.

After breakfast, I decided to explore the mansion more thoroughly, searching for any weaknesses or opportunities that might allow me to slip away unnoticed. I knew that time was of the essence, that Heeseung could return at any moment, and I had to be ready.

Every room I entered, every hallway I traversed, was a potential escape route. I examined windows, looking for any that might be unlocked, but they were all securely sealed. My footsteps were silent, my breath held in anticipation, fearing that even the slightest sound might alert someone to my intentions.

As I continued my exploration, I concluded that the fastest and sneakiest way to flee this mansion was through the garage, using one of Heeseung's cars. It was risky, and I would need to move quickly, but it was a chance I had to take. My heart raced as I considered the possibility of freedom, of reuniting with Sunghoon.

Returning to the bedroom, I focused my attention on the tracking device. I knew that disabling it was essential for my escape. I took a picture of the device with my phone, hoping that I could find information about it online.

My trembling fingers typed in the device's model details, and I scanned the search results. Finally, I found a match, but before I could delve into ways to deactivate it, a sinking feeling washed over me. Heeseung had returned.

The bedroom door swung open, and there he stood, an inscrutable expression on his face. My heart threatened to leap out of my chest as I quickly pocketed my phone, feigning innocence.

"Sun, my love," Heeseung greeted me, his voice oozing with charm. "I'm back from a meeting. Did you miss me?"

I forced a smile, trying to conceal my anxiety. "Mhm. How was your meeting?"

Heeseung seemed content with my response, but there was something in his gaze, a flicker of suspicion that sent shivers down my spine. "It was okay," he replied, his tone measured. "You haven't been up to something, right Sun?"

I swallowed hard, my heart pounding. "Why would you think that, Heeseung?"

He moved closer slowly, his fingers grazing my cheek as he whispered, "Because I know you better than anyone, my dear."

I tried to act tough, "Well I didn't do anything, Hee."

"Good boy, I'll prepare dinner" He said as he left a kiss on my lips. After Heeseung left the room, I let out a shaky breath, my racing heart gradually slowing. It was a close call, and I knew I couldn't afford any more mistakes.

Heeseung's POV

I sat in the opulent conference room, my fingers drumming impatiently on the mahogany table. The meeting had been scheduled for what felt like hours, and I loathed waiting. Time was a precious commodity, and I didn't like wasting it.
