Heeseung's POV
I burst through the door of the resthouse, panting and clutching my shoulder. The dogs went in rushing too. Niki, Jay, and Jake were already there, waiting. The moment I collapsed into a chair, Jake rushed over with a first aid kit, his face tight with concern.
"Hold still," he ordered, starting to treat my bullet wound.
"Ugh, motherfucker!" I hissed, wincing as he cleaned the wound.
"Where's Sunoo?" Niki asked, his eyes scanning me for answers.
"I told him to go out, Minho and San are with him," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady despite the pain.
Jay, who had been pacing, suddenly stopped and looked at me, his face pale. "Wouldn't they be able to know where Sunoo is too if they tracked your house?" he asked.
The room went silent, the weight of Jay's words sinking in.
"Fuck," I muttered, realizing the gravity of the situation.
"We have to go," I said, standing up despite the throbbing pain in my shoulder. "We can't let them get to him."
Jake quickly finished bandaging my wound, and I grabbed a shirt, slipping my gun into the waistband of my pants. "Stay here for now, you two." I told Lily and Sky.
I pulled out my phone and dialed Sunoo's number, praying he would pick up.
"Come on, come on," I muttered, the phone ringing in my ear. Finally, Sunoo answered, his voice calm but curious.
Sunoo
{Hey Hee, what's up?}Heeseung
{Hey, where are you now?}Sunoo
{We're at the mall, we're currently eating.}Heeseung
{What restaurant?}Sunoo
{Burger King, why? You coming?}Heeseung
{Yeah, wait for me.}Sunoo
{Okay, I love you.}Heeseung
{I love you too.}Niki pulled up to the entrance, the engine of the car roaring. Jay and Jake loaded the trunk with weapons and supplies. I took one last look around the resthouse, then climbed into the passenger seat.
"Let's move," I said, and we sped off. We had to find Sunoo before they did. Hold tight for me, Sun.
Sunoo's POV
"What if Heeseung knows about that woman?" Minho asked, breaking the silence that had settled over our table.
"That's why I didn't tell him," I replied, keeping my voice low. "I don't wanna worry him. And if he really has something to do with any of this, we'll talk it out."
"Well, that's a good, healthy relationship you're keeping there," San said with a nod.
"Thanks," I said, appreciating the support. "I really don't wanna trigger Heeseung again. He’s changed so much, and I appreciate that about him."
We kept eating, the conversation lightening a bit as we focused on our food. But then I saw Heeseung coming toward us. He hugged me and sat down, looking a bit uneasy.
"Did you get bored at home?" I asked, trying to read his expression.
"Y-Yeah..." Heeseung replied, scratching his nape nervously. As he did, his shirt lifted a bit, and I noticed a gauze pad with some blood seeping through.
