Heeseung's POV

We got inside and Sunoo gasped at how grandiose the mansion was. I could feel the wave of childhood nostalgia hitting me hard. Mom and I used to visit here often. The scent of polished wood and expensive leather furniture brought back a flood of memories.

"Remy Martin, please," my dad requested to the maid as we settled in the living room.

"So, would you like to introduce me to your friend over here?" Dad asked, his eyes twinkling with curiosity.

I held Sunoo's hand, feeling a mix of pride and anticipation. "Dad, this is Sunoo, he's actually my partner."

Sunoo extended his hand, and Dad shook it warmly. His face lit up. "Oh really? What business are you two working with?" he asked, his tone casual.

"No, Dad, I mean like partner, the love of my life," I clarified.

Dad's smile turned to a shocked expression. "Oh well, that's interesting. I'm sure Sunoo's interesting too, because you don't like boring people," he chuckled, trying to process the information.

As we settled into our seats, Dad poured drinks for everyone. "So, Sunoo, how did you and Heeseung meet?" Dad asked, genuinely interested.

Sunoo looked at me, our first meeting wasn't very perfect, but I didn't want him to hide anything, I nodded and smiled, urging him to continue, "Uh, I came from Busan, I needed a job so I went here in Seoul, and Heeseung helped me with my business." Sunoo explained, smiling.

Dad nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Speaking of business, Heeseung, how are things with your... own businesses?" he asked, carefully choosing his words.

I took a deep breath, knowing we were venturing into heavier topics. "It's been pretty rough. You know about the family business and the responsibilities that come with it. But there are complications. I've been dealing with a lot, especially after Mom's passing," I admitted, my voice faltering a bit.

Dad's expression softened. "I miss her too, son. She was a strong woman, literally. Her passing was definitely hard on all of us. But you have to be strong, for yourself and for Sunoo right here."

Sunoo squeezed my hand, and I took a deep breath. "Because of Sunoo, I'm managing. There's this thing which has been a real problem, though." I continued.

Dad leaned forward, his interest piqued. "Hm? What is it?"

I exchanged a glance with Sunoo before I began. "Sunoo and I are being targeted, Dad."

Dad's brow furrowed. "Targeted? By whom?"

"Sunghoon's parents, Sunoo's ex-boyfriend" I said. "They believe we killed him."

His eyes widened in confusion. "What...? Why would they think you had anything to do with that?"

"We got his father, he said that it was what Jungwon's father told them," I said. "Sunghoon followed Sunoo here in Seoul. We tried to protect him from Jungwon, who was causing a lot of trouble. Things escalated, and Jungwon shot both me and Sunghoon. Sunghoon didn't make it."

Dad's expression turned serious. "And his parents think you two are responsible for his death."

I nodded. "Yes, they're out for revenge. They believe we had something to do with Sunghoon's death, even though we were trying to protect him."

Dad nodded slowly, processing the information. "His father... Subin...? Oh, they've always been a thorn in our side... Okay, I'll see what I can do. But you need to be careful, Heeseung. This life is dangerous."
