Sunoo's POV
I stirred awake, a sensation tingling on my lips. Blinking open my eyes, I found Heeseung leaning over me, his lips curving into a mischievous smile.
"Morning," he murmured, his voice low and inviting.
"Morning," I mumbled back, my sleep-addled brain slowly registering the situation. Heeseung's lips on mine had a way of jolting me awake, like a sudden rush of caffeine to my system.
He straightened up, his eyes still holding that playful glint. "Hungry?"
I sat up, rubbing my eyes. "Y-Yeah, I could eat."
He offered me a hand, helping me to my feet before leading me to the dining area. The table was set with an array of delicious breakfast options, the aroma wafting through the air.
As I settled into my seat, Heeseung joined me, "You know," he began, his tone casual yet flirty, "I was thinking we could attend an event later today. What do you say?"
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "An event? What kind?"
He winked, his lips quirking up. "You'll see. It's a surprise." He grinned, pouring some juice into a glass. "Keeps things interesting, doesn't it?"
I nodded in agreement, my mind already racing with curiosity about what he had planned.
But as I nibbled on my breakfast, another question lingered on my mind. After all, there were things I needed to clarify, boundaries I needed to establish.
"Heeseung," I began tentatively, "about the soup shop... Do you mind if I continue working there?"
He paused mid-bite, his eyes meeting mine with a seriousness that sent a shiver down my spine. He put his fork down and regarded me with a level gaze.
"Sunoo," he said gently yet firmly, "you're going to be my husband. You have a new life now, a different path to walk. Working at that shop... it's not a part of your future anymore."
I knew he meant business, that there was no room for negotiation.
I sighed, looking down at my plate. "But-"
He immediately looked at me "No buts." He reached over, his hand covering mine in a reassuring gesture. "I'm not trying to take everything away from you, Sunoo. I just want what's best for both of us."
As his words settled over me, I nodded, offering a small smile. "Okay."
He smiled back, his thumb gently caressing my hand. "Good. Now, let's finish breakfast. We have an event to get ready for."
As I resumed eating, my heart felt a tinge of sadness. Heeseung then left me to pick clothes in the bedroom. While I was busy, my phone rang, it was dad.
Dad
