Sunoo's POV
I jolted back to reality, the chaos around me pulling me from the shock. I ducked under the table as fast as I could, my heart racing. Heeseung and San were already checking on Niki, who was grunting in pain, his shoulder covered in blood.
"Jake, Jay, get to the car! Minho, help San carry Niki," Heeseung ordered. Jay and Jake crouched low and hid behind the walls of the restaurant, while San and Minho quickly but carefully lifted Niki.
Heeseung pulled a gun from under his shirt, cocking it. He reached out his hand to me. "Whatever happens, stay behind me," he said, his eyes locked on mine. I nodded, feeling scared.
We ran to a wall and took cover as bullets rained down, chipping away at the walls. Heeseung and Jake exchanged a quick nod before Heeseung started firing back. Jake and Jay sprinted to the car, and the engine roared to life. Minho and San followed, carrying Niki, and then Heeseung and I dashed to join them.
*BANG*
The driver's seat window shattered, and blood splattered everywhere. Jake clutched his neck, blood seeping through his fingers, but he kept driving with one hand.
"Jay, get the steering wheel! Head to a hospital!" I yelled, my voice shaking. I quickly took off my jacket and pressed it against Jake's neck, trying to stem the bleeding. "Hey, don't close your eyes," I urged him, panic rising in my chest as I saw his eyelids drooping.
Jake's breathing was labored, and his grip on the wheel was weakening. "Stay with me, Jake. Come on, you're stronger than this," I pleaded, my hands trembling as I applied more pressure to his neck. Jay took control of the wheel.
In the back, Niki's groans of pain filled the air, but San and Minho did their best to keep him stable. I looked at Heeseung, his eyes widened looking at Jake. "Hey." I called out.
He looked at me concerned, as if he was thinking this is all his fault. His breathing became ragged, it was the first time I've seen Heeseung looked so... scared.
We sped through the streets, the tension in the car still heavy. "Just a little longer, Jake. We're almost there," I whispered, more to myself than to him, as I felt the warmth of his blood soaking through my jacket.
As we screeched to a halt in front of the emergency entrance, medical staff rushed out to meet us. "Hang in there, Jake," I said, my voice cracking as I helped him out of the car. Heeseung and San carried Niki, who was barely conscious, while Minho and Jay followed closely behind.
The medical team took over, quickly assessing the injuries and rushing Jake and Niki inside. I stood there, feeling numb and helpless, watching them disappear through the doors. Heeseung came up beside me, and dragged me towards the hospital. We sat on a bench beside each other, covered in blood.
Heeseung pulled out his phone, his hands trembling slightly as he dialed his dad’s number. The phone rang a few times before his dad answered. Heeseung stepped away for a moment to talk with his Dad.
