Heeseung's POV

I got out of the restroom, spacing out. I barely noticed Sunoo shaking me. "You're being called to the stage!" he whispered urgently.

I snapped back to reality, composed myself, and made my way to the stage. "I—uh... I want to thank you all for coming here..." I started, trying to gather my thoughts. The crowd's eyes were on me, but my mind was still reeling from my encounter with Sungjin.

"Your support means a lot to us," I continued, glancing around the room. The usual bullshit speech. "We've worked hard to make this event a success, and it wouldn't be possible without each and every one of you."

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Sungjin slowly making his way toward Sunoo's table. Oh motherfucker, hell no. I couldn't let him get near Sunoo.

"And I'd like to call my partner to the stage," I said quickly, hoping to keep Sunoo safe by my side. Sungjin stopped in his tracks, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face before he turned away.

Sunoo, looking surprised, got up and made his way to the stage. I breathed a small sigh of relief as he joined me.

"H-Hello, everyone," Sunoo began, his voice steady and warm. I tried to focus on his speech, but my eyes kept scanning the crowd for Sungjin... Where the hell did he go?

Sunoo was thanking everyone and talking about how much the event meant to him. I should've been listening, supporting him. But all I could think about was Sungjin and his cryptic warning.

There. I spotted Sungjin again, slipping through the crowd like a damn ghost. One moment he was there, the next he was gone. I had a bad feeling about this, about what he might be planning.

Sunoo finished his speech, and the crowd applauded. I forced a smile, clapping along, but my mind was elsewhere. As we stepped off the stage, I kept Sunoo close, my eyes still searching the room.

"Hey, you okay?" Sunoo asked, his concern evident.

"Yeah, just... looking for someone," I replied, not wanting to worry him. But deep down, I knew things were about to get a lot more complicated.

When the event ended, San came up to me. "Sir, Mr. Yen wants to speak to you. Actually, a lot of peopl—"

"No, let's go," I interrupted him. I wasn't in the mood for more business talk, especially after the encounter with Sungjin. We headed outside and got into the car. I loosened my necktie and unbuttoned my vest, feeling the tension of the evening still gripping me.

Sunoo took my arm and wrapped it around his shoulder. "Are you really okay?" he asked, concern in his eyes.

"Trust me, I'm fine," I said, kissing his forehead. God, I hoped I sounded convincing.

After a moment of silence, "Oh, I know! Let's celebrate at a club! You, me, San, and Minho," Sunoo suggested, his eyes lighting up.

I was a bit hesitant. Clubs meant more people, more noise, more opportunities for trouble. But seeing Sunoo's excitement, I couldn't say no. "Alright," I agreed.

San rerouted us to a discreet club, the kind where we could relax without too much attention. "Under The Influence" by Chris Brown was playing in the background when we arrived. A vibe to get my mind off things.

We found a table and settled in. "Sucks Niki, Jay, and Jake aren't here," San said, looking around.

"Trust me, they're pretty irritating, just like kids," Minho replied, chuckling. I loved those guys, but they indeed could be a handful.
