Sunoo's POV

Sunghoon and I were in my room, surrounded by bags as we packed up my belongings. The reality of leaving was setting in, I felt a mixture of excitement and sadness. Sunghoon's presence was a comfort, his support easing the weight of my departure.

"Thanks for helping me pack, Sunghoon," I said, offering him a grateful smile.

He grinned, his eyes playful. "Of course, Sunoo. You know I'm your personal packing assistant."

As we continued to pack, my gaze fell on the picture of my family on my desk. I picked it up, tracing the smiles of my parents and me.

Later, Sunghoon and I were on his bike, making our way to the police station. Saying goodbye to my father was something I needed to do, regardless of anything that lay ahead.

Once we reached the police station, I took a deep breath, my heart pounding as I entered the building. We met again, separated between a glass wall and talking through phones.

"Dad," I said, my throat tight.

"Are you really sure about this?" He asked with a concerned tone.

I nodded. "I need to do this, Dad. For you, for Mom, for all of us."

He spoke, a faint smile on his lips. "You've grown so much, Sunoo."

I chuckled softly, my eyes welling up with tears. "Yeah, well, I guess it's time."

His gaze and tone turned serious, and he leaned in . "And... your mother told me something interesting."

I frowned, curiosity piqued. "You two talked? What did she tell you?"

His expression softened, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes. "She told me you and Sunghoon are officially together."

I felt my face heat up, both embarrassed and surprised. "She... she told you that...?"

My father chuckled, his laughter warm and genuine. "Yeah, she couldn't keep it a secret. And honestly, Sunoo, I'm glad to see you finding happiness."

I let out a nervous laugh, shaking my head. "I-I can't believe she spilled the beans like that."

He laughed again, a lightness in his gaze. "Well, she did, and I'm happy for you. Take care of each other. I've already told my cellmate too."

As we shared a moment of laughter, the tension between us dissolved.

Sunghoon and I then made our way to the hospital. Mom, Sunghoon, and I had a talk before we went back to our house. Sunghoon called a taxi for me and I dozed off for a bit, laying on his shoulders.

The train station platform was bustling with people, Sunghoon and I stood together, our gazes fixed on the tracks. This was it, the moment we had been dreading and anticipating all at once.

I glanced at Sunghoon. "Well, I guess this is goodbye."

He gave me a small smile, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Yeah, just for now."

We fell into a silence, the weight of the impending separation settling between us, now that this moment had arrived, it felt bittersweet. I wanted to stay strong, to show that I was ready for this new chapter, but the truth was that the reality of leaving hit me harder than I expected.

Sunghoon nudged my shoulder playfully, a hint of a grin on his lips. "Hey, don't forget to text me when you get there. I don't want you getting lost in Seoul."
