Sunghoon's POV
I couldn't stay here. Not after hearing those words. Sunoo, the one person who had been with me through everything, was gone. I needed to get answers, to find out what had happened, and to confront Heeseung. My hands trembled, my vision blurred, and I tried to push past Jungwon.
"Let me fucking go!" I shouted, anger and despair bubbling within me. "I need to talk to Heeseung. I need to know the truth."
Jungwon's strong grip stopped me in my tracks. He held me firmly, his voice calm and steady. "Sunghoon, you need to calm down. This is a dangerous situation, and I don't want you to die too."
How could he ask me to be calm? My world had just shattered into a million pieces, and I felt like I was standing on the edge of an abyss. I couldn't lose control of my emotions, and I couldn't lose my composure. But it was impossible.
I struggled against his grip, tears streaming down my face. "I can't calm down! Sunoo is... he's gone!" The words caught in my throat, and I collapsed to the floor, overwhelmed by grief and loss.
Jungwon knelt beside me, his expression filled with understanding and sorrow. He put a comforting hand on my shoulder, trying to console me. "I know, Sunghoon. I know this is incredibly hard for you. But you have to trust me. I'll be the one to talk to Heeseung. It's safer that way."
The tears continued to fall, and I felt like I was drowning in a sea of despair. I nodded weakly, too emotionally drained to argue any further. Jungwon was right. I was in no condition to face Heeseung at that moment.
All I could do was hope that Jungwon would find the answers I desperately needed, and that someday, I could make sense of the senseless tragedy that had befallen us.
Heeseung's POV
I awoke in a sterile, unfamiliar room, my senses slowly returning to me. The doctor stood at my bedside, a somber expression etched across his face, I tried to sit up, but my body felt heavy, and a sharp pain pierced my chest, "Good morning Mr. Lee, you've passed out from hyperventilation."
The doctor's words hung heavily in the air, but the first thing I asked for was Sunoo. "S-Sunoo, w-where's Sunoo?" My voice trembled, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I had to see Sunoo, and had to make sure he was okay.
The doctor's somber expression, the hesitation in his voice, sent a wave of unease coursing through me. I knew something was terribly wrong. I sat up, the room spinning around me, my heart pounding in my chest. "Tell me," I demanded, my voice trembling, my hands clenched into fists. "Where's Sunoo?"
The doctor's eyes met mine, and he spoke in a tone laced with regret. "I'm so sorry, Mr. Lee. Sunoo is... Sunoo didn't make it. He passed away."
The world collapsed around me. It felt as if the ground had been ripped out from under me, and I was plummeting into an abyss. Sunoo was gone. My beloved Sunoo, the one person who had held my heart, who had infuriated me, challenged me, and who I loved me like no other. He was gone.
A guttural cry of pain escaped my lips, and tears streamed down my face as I brought my hands to my head, covering my eyes. I couldn't breathe, couldn't think, "No... no," I whispered, tears welling up in my eyes. It couldn't be true. It was just a nightmare, a cruel illusion that would vanish when I woke up.
The doctor's voice was filled with genuine regret as he said, "I'm so sorry, Mr. Lee. We did everything we could."
"Leave me," I choked out, unable to bear the doctor's presence any longer.
