Sunoo's POV
In the unsettling silence of the mansion, Heeseung's mother's cries for help pierced through, echoing a sense of urgency. My heart raced, wondering if Heeseung had fainted again. But I had to take this chance...
Panic set in, urging me to find an escape route. The windows were still locked with that fucking device. Scanning the room, my eyes caught a gray object partially hidden behind a tall shelf. I moved the shelf, revealing a vent. With a metal nail file, I unscrewed the vent cover, and eventually opened it.
Crawling through the confined space, I made a silent pact to pull the shelf back into place, concealing my escape route. The journey through the vent felt like a clandestine operation, an intricate dance with survival.
As I went through the twists and turns, a dim light at the end signaled a possible exit. Cautiously, I approached, hoping for an opening to the outside world. Using the nail file once more, I carefully lifted the vent cover, revealing the garden beyond.
Ensuring the coast was clear, I sprinted through the garden with all of my energy. The tall metal fence gate loomed ahead, a final barrier I had to face. Climbing it with desperation, I fell onto the ground outside.
Road... Outside... A tear traced down my cheek. I stood, catching my breath, realizing that against all odds, I had successfully broken free from the clutches of that fucking mansion.
In the cold night, I ran through unfamiliar streets, desperation and fear casting long shadows. Spotting a group of strangers, I approached the strangers, "Please, I need help. Please..."
One of them sneered, "Oh my god... you're the mafia boss's wife, aren't you?!"
"N-No, you don't understand, please. I'm running away," I pleaded.
They scattered, leaving me alone in the night. Frustration welled up, causing me to wish they experience the pain I've gone through and die.
With the distant glow of a police station offering hope and safety, a lingering distrust of the government made me change course. I ran, my mind racing for an alternative plan. An unsettling idea took root, acknowledging its darkness and evilness, but I had to do it...
Entering a secluded store, I found an old man, and with trembling hands, I pointed the nail file at him. In a secluded store, I faced the old man, nail file in hand. "I-I'm really so sorry, but I need money, please."
He begged, "P-Please don't hurt me."
My desperation echoed, "I just need money! That's all! Faster!"
Reluctantly, he handed over tons of cash, and I fled. Boarding a bus with the stolen money, I looked at the sign, saying Tennessee. I muttered, "Tennessee, please bring me safety."
Sunghoon's POV
I woke up to the sterile smell of the hospital. Minho was sitting beside me, looking worried. "Are you okay?" he asked as soon as he saw me stir.
I nodded, my mind immediately going to Sunoo. "Sunoo... where's Sunoo?" I muttered.
Minho gripped my hand, "Don't worry, Jungwon's taking care of it."
Gritting my teeth, I asked, "Did they take him again?"
Minho nodded silently, and I sighed in frustration. Just then, Jungwon and the others entered the room. "Where were you when we needed you?" I demanded, my frustration boiling over.
Jungwon's tone was sharp, "We were fighting for our lives too, Sunghoon. Don't forget that."
I shook my head in disbelief, "But if you had been quicker, none of this would've happened."
