Heeseung's POV
The evening cast a cozy glow over the room as Sunoo and I lounged on the couch, the soft hum of the TV in the background. The question had slipped out casually, like a feather dancing in the air. "Have you ever thought about going out to the city, Sunoo?"
Sunoo shrugged, his eyes still fixed on the screen. "It's boring there. I prefer it here."
I couldn't help but wonder if he said that because he didn't want people to see us together outside the confines of our home.
After a long silence, Sunoo looker at me. He sighed and chose his words with care. "It's not that I want to. It's just... I've been avoiding going out. I find it boring and a waste of time."
I searched his eyes for the deeper meaning behind his words. "Is it because you don't want people to see us together?"
The question hung in the air, and I felt a twinge of vulnerability. Sunoo hesitated before responding, "It's not that. I just enjoy staying here." Then, Sunoo leaned into me, his head finding a comfortable spot on my shoulder. "Besides, everything I need is right here."
Heeseung, don't overthink. This is the simplicity he craves, I reminded myself. Still, a pang of guilt lingered. I wanted him to feel free, not confined by the space we shared.
We settled back against the sofa, our laughter blending with the TV's lighthearted banter. The warmth between us felt tangible, grounding. Reading Sunoo's mind, I whispered, "What do you think our future will be like, Sun?"
He indulged in the sweet fantasy, envisioning a life of comfort and happiness. "Well, I imagine we'll have a comfortable home, maybe a pet. You'll cook us amazing meals, and we'll travel to places we've never been, or I have never been. You probably visited all the countries in the world with your business." Sunoo said.
I nodded, and we shared a dreamy moment, picturing a future painted in love and simplicity. "That sounds lovely..." I chuckled, playing along with his whimsical vision.
Sunoo's mom, sensing the playful mood, emerged from the kitchen, bearing a basket of freshly baked bread. The aroma filled the room, and she smiled warmly. "I made your favorite, Heeseung. Enjoy!"
Our romantic musings were interrupted by the enticing aroma of freshly baked bread. Sunoo's mother appeared, offering us a platter of her special bread with a warm smile.
"Here you go, my dears," she said, placing the bread before us.
Sunoo grinned, nudging me with an elbow. "See, I told you my mom's bread is the best."
I couldn't agree more. In those moments, surrounded by the ordinary yet extraordinary warmth of a family, I felt a sense of belonging.
The warm evening hours had transformed Sunoo's bedroom into a tranquil haven. Sunoo's father had arrived, and the rich aroma of dinner preparations wafted through the air.
Sunoo and I nestled on his plush bed, his body comfortably laying in my arms. I brushed my fingers gently through his hair as he lay with his head on my chest.
"Your parents must be wonderful cooks," I whispered, my breath gently grazing the skin of his ear, kissing it.
Sunoo chuckled softly, his eyes half-lidded. "I've been telling you that."
"I know," I murmured, my voice a little lower, my fingertips tracing intricate patterns along his arm. "But your parents aren't the only ones who know their way around the kitchen."
