Heeseung's POV
As we approached Tennessee, the tension in the car was thick enough to cut with a knife. Seohyun drove, his eyes focused on the road ahead, his silence echoing the gravity of the situation. I knew we were both bracing ourselves for what awaited us.
"Call my other men," I instructed Seohyun, my voice steady but firm. "Tell them to circle around the area where we tracked the phone. Sunoo's not dumb; he won't stick around for long."
Just as Seohyun reached for his phone, mine buzzed with an incoming call. I glanced at the screen and saw Sunoo's number flashing. With a deep breath, I answered, steeling myself for whatever he had to say.
Heeseung
{Hm?}Sunoo
{Meet me at the Cumberland Park.}Sunoo's voice came through the line, devoid of emotion, before abruptly ending the call.
My heart raced as I locked eyes with Seohyun. "You heard him," I said, my voice betraying none of the anxiety coursing through me.
Sunghoon's POV
After what felt like an eternity of waiting in the van, I could feel my patience wearing thin. I turned to Jungwon, frustration evident in my voice. "When are we going to move?" I demanded, unable to contain my irritation any longer.
Jungwon's calm demeanor didn't waver as he looked at me. "Did Sunoo already give you the location where you'll meet him up?" he asked, his voice steady and controlled.
Before I could respond, my phone rang, breaking the tension in the air. I quickly stepped out of the van, scanning the surroundings before answering the call.
Sunghoon
{Hello, Sunoo? Are you oka-}Sunoo
{Meet me at the Cumberland Park.}Sunoo's voice came through the line, concise and direct, before abruptly ending the call.
My heart pounded in my chest as I raced back to the van, adrenaline coursing through my veins. "He wants me to meet him right now," I told Jungwon, urgency lacing my words.
Jungwon nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Where?" he asked, his expression serious.
"It doesn't matter," I replied hastily, my mind already racing ahead. "Just don't follow me. We can't risk things going south."
"Fine," Jungwon agreed, his voice steady as he closed the door.
I bolted from the van, my heart trembling with a mixture of fear and anticipation as I made my way to the meeting point Sunoo gave me.
Heeseung's POV
As we arrived at Cumberland Park, I wasted no time in giving Seohyun his orders. "Secure the perimeter," I instructed him, my voice firm. "Get rid of anyone, let's not cause havoc this time, I'm getting tired."
While Seohyun went about his task, I walked casually, trying to keep my composure despite the turmoil churning inside me. My hands trembled inexplicably as I checked the tracker, following the signal to another phone Sunoo had used.
With every step, the tension in the air thickened, until I found myself standing at the designated point. My heart pounded in my chest as I spotted a phone resting on a bench. Then, a bright red light flashed from above.
Instinctively, I looked up and saw a figure in the distance, a sniper poised on an upper balcony, aiming directly at me. My breath caught in my throat as I muttered a name, "San..."
