Three days later...It was the last day of her wake. Everyone had visited her. Each and every family member on both sides. All of the people who had a close relationship with her. All of them. Except One.
Cheryl.
She never visited her not even once. She just locks herself up in their room and curl up into a ball clutching Max's necklace which Katy gave to her two days ago. It was the only thing that was found at the scene.
Katy was the one who visited their daughter always. She was there in the morning until dawn then she would exchange with the girls or Joan and go home.
She hadn't had some sleep yet and it shows with the bags under her eyes and flushed cheeks. She's too occupied by the dark shadows that surrounds her as she watch people pass her by.
And when she gots home, She would always find Cheryl in the same position when she left. Curled up in the middle of the bed staring at nothing.
She couldn't deny that the once so strong and positive Katy is already tired and slowly falling apart as each day pass by.
Now, she sits at the bed looking at her fiance staring at the thin and broken figure in front of her. She gulps the tears as she stares at her. Getting more and more worried at the brunette's very huge weight loss. Her pajamas are hanging to her like an oversized pair well in fact, before it was just the right size.
Cheryl hasn't been eating since the day of the accident. Katy would give her food and insist to feed her but the silent treatment leads her to leaving the food by the table and just leave. Though this was not eaten by the brunette and just wait for it to be taken away.
"B-Baby, Uhm..It's the last day of Max's wake. Could you atleast visit her." Katy whispers. She waited but didn't get a response from the brunette.
She hesitate but then she lied beside Cheryl. Her hands shake as she lifts it up slowly touched the Geordie's slim arm and lightly snaked her arm around the fragile body beside her. Cheryl didn't sewm to react to it so Katy gently lifts her up and slid her arm under her neck, that's when Cheryl turns around and clutch Katy's top crying again.
Katy held her closer as she close her eyes allowing a few tears to escape. She thought she doesn't have tears left but then she was wrong.
Cheryl crumble down as she sobs her heart out onto Katy's chest still clutching the necklace with one hand.
The necklace that has a key on it. Max never took that off, not a single day. It was locked around her neck. And with the fact that it is now in Cheryl's hand just makes everything so real.
"I-I c-can't" Cheryl hiccups, and this made Katy's heart tightened.
"Baby, she might want you to see her."
"No"
"Ba-"
"I can't"
Silence
"Cheryl, why can't you? She's your daughter. I-It might help you to...move on." Katy whispers in disapointment as she runs her fingers through Cheryl's locks.
Cheryl loosened her grip on Katy's top as her sobs finally fades.
Move on
She mentally repeat her lover's words. It doesn't seem to register to her. She just can't move on and she knows she would never be able to.
"For the last time..." Cheryl turns away from her fiance and returns to her old position. Making Katy let out a shaky breath.
"J-Just go K-Katy. Leave us alone." Katy sat up with an annoyed expression. Its their last day to see their daughter and her own mother can't even go and visit her.
