Chapter 49

Katy was nervous. It's 5 minutes before she'll be called up in stage. She knows the reason why she's here.

"Katy are you ready?" Shannon said as she stood next to Katy backstage.

"Yea."

"You've been quiet since you arrive here. Is it still about Max?" Katy is getting emotional but she refuse to let it out. She needs to be strong.

"No, she said she'll wait for me..But..Ugh! This is driving me crazy.." Katy burried her face in her hands.

"It'll be okay Katy"

"2 minutes." A staff said to her. She then let out a sigh and composed herself.

"Better get going then" Shan said leaving Katy stood there waiting on her cue.

"Babe wake up, come on. We have to get going or Simon's gonna have a row with us." Cheryl said as she shook her tired and sleepy daughter on the sofa.

"Mmm"

"Come on pet." Max opened her eyes to be met by her mam's smile showing full display of her dimples. She sat up slowly rubbing her eyes.

"You can sleep in the car. Come on." Max nodded and took her mam's hand and made their way out of the house.

When they both got in the car, Max immediately got comfortable and curled up facing her mam and closing her eyes. She was tired and she doesn't know why. Last thing she remember is she had enough sleep for the night. Maybe its the consequence of her not eating her meals.

Cheryl started the engine but before driving, she secured her daughter with the seatbelt and with that she started driving.

"Now, we heard that you're in a relationship now and I must say..Welcome to the community" Ellen said making Katy smile and giggle a little.

"I know right..Thank you." The audience applauded which secretly caught Katy by surprise.

"So her name is Cheryl Cole...She might not be well known here in the US but she's really big in the UK..

"Yup, I'm in a relationship with the nation's sweetheart." Katy said proudly. " She's very pretty... Oh there she is.." A picture of Cheryl was shown on the screen making Katy immediately melt. Now she really missed her girls more.

"How are you two?"

"Cheryl's great..Really when you get to know her more, you'll find out that she's the most caring and lovable person you'll ever met...But she swears all the time but just like in her song said she doesn't care. "

"So that's why you've been spending much of your time in the UK then.."

"Yes cause she can't go here cause she has X factor right now."

"I love the X factor." Ellen said making the audience cheer.

Max woke up realizing she was all alone in her mam's dressing room. She was craving of her mam's comfort so she immediately walk out of the room making heads turn to her.

"Max" She turned to where the voice came from and she saw Mel walking towards her with her daughter.

"I need my mam."

"She's on the panel babe. " Mel said as Max eyes travel to Phoenix, Mel's daughter. She looks strong and confident making her feel so small about herself.
