Chapter 97

When Cheryl arrived at the hospital, She immediately rushed to Max's room..She was suddenly craving of her contact. She wants to hug her, kiss her, tell her how she misses her but that was thrown away when she stormed in the room to see doctors facing Max and Katy who is seated by the bed..

"What's happening here?" The doctors turned to us as well as my girls..

"Uhm...Ms.Tweedy, we're just informing Max that she will undergo counceling when she's fully recovered..That's all..Can you excuse us, we better go." And with that the doctors left leavig the three alonr in the room. You can cut the tension with a knife..It created silence inside the room.

Cheryl was nervous as she swallowed the lump forming in her throat..She knows her girls are both upset with her and she just doesn't know how to start a conversation.

"I'm surprised, you came back.." Katy said coldly as she turn to her daughter making a frown form on Cheryl's face..

Max remained silent just staring at the sheets..She's fully aware that her mother is in the same room..She was still upset with the fact she wasn't here earlier..

"Where have you been?"

"I-I went to me Mam's.." Cheryl whispered as she was rooted to her spot staring at her daughter making a lump on her throat..

"Right.." Katy sighed as she stood up and kissed her daughter on the cheek as she whispers something to her but Max doesn't seem to react on it so Katy just turn and made her way to the door walking past Cheryl but she grabbed Katy's arm making her turn to her.

"Where are you going?"

"Out." Katy pulled her arm from Cheryl's grip and continue her pace as she walks out of the room..Cheryl sighed and slowly made her way to her broken daughter trying to keep her nerves in control..

"Baby..." Cheryl removed the hair covering her daughter's face and tucked it behind her ear..touching her cheeks softly..

"Maxene...Baby.." Maxene was frozen..She's trying to keep the tears in..To keep her emotions in control but it seems they're not cooperating at all... As she can feel hot tears suddenly spilling from her eyes.

"I know that you hate us..I-I know I'm the reason why you did it..A-And I'm so sorry baby.. I really am.I'm really trying my best to make up for all the years that we've been apart.."

"Why did you leave?" Max whispered and it shut Cheryl up..She knows her excuse is unacceptable but its how she felt a while ago. When Cheryl didn't respond, Max turn to her mother looking at her with tears in her eyes making Cheryl's tears fall down..It really breaks her heart to see her like this..

"I was hoping you'd be the first one who'll say my name, the moment I wake up...I waited for you again..."

"Ba-"

"Why did you leave me..You promised you will never leave me again...You broke your promise again..." Max sobbed and taking her chance Cheryl held her daughter guiding her head on her chest cradling her like a little girl..

"I'm sorry baby..your Mam's a coward.. I thought you hate us and you probably don't want us here.."

"I waited for you...I always wait for you but why everytime I do..I get hurt and disappointed...Mam did you ever think of me back then.." Cheryl froze and pulled back as she faced her daughter looking deep in her eyes..

"Always..Every second of the day baby..I swear on my life, I do think about you...I love you so much.." She was searching for some hope in her daughter's eyes but can't seem to find it...

"Do-Do you believe us?" She whispered and when she didn't recieve the response she wanted from her little girl, that's when she broke down. Letting go of her Max as she collapse on the chair and feel hrr heart broke into a billion pieces..

"I've done everything...Everything I can t-to make it up to you.. All I have left is my love..for you. I have nothing else in my hands anymore..Just my love.." Cheryl sobbed in her hands and Max watch as her mother broke down and in desperation of her forgiveness.. Once again, her Mam is slowly breaking her strong walls..

Deep down inside, Max felt a weight lifted off her chest. Its like the only solution to her state is to talk to her Mam about what she's feeling..Its the only thing that will cure her...

"I'm sorry Its not enough...I'm sorry I've been the worst Mam in the world...I'm so sorry..." Cheryl stood up and turn to walk away.

"Where are you going? You'll leave me again...You'll run away again.." Cheryl stopped in her tracks and slowly turn to her distraught girl..

"You always run away...Why can't you just stay and face it Mam.. Why do you keep running away..."She sobbed.."I don't know why but with all that's happened, I still don't hate you...There, I said it..I don't hate you Mam..I-I c-can't hate you..."

Cheryl felt awful as she witness her daughter's real state.. Her mind has a small damaged to it with her past coming back to her... She just wants yo make her feel better...

"C-cause  I just don't want to see you cry..Cause its killing us baby... I always run away thinking that your life would be much better without us.."

"What're you talking about ? You saved my life...I'm just this one who f*cked it up...If it wasn't for you and Mum, I would've been burried in the ground right now..

"Then why are you being like this then...Why can't you talk to us.."

"BECAUSE MY PAST IS HAUNTING ME!" Cheryl was taken aback by Max's shouting and it made Katy entered swiftly into the room..And as soon as she saw her little girl sobbing her heart out, She immediately rushed to her and take her into her arms as she tried to calm the teen down...

"I can't get it off my head and its taking over my system...I need you..I needed you...But you were away...MAM, YOU KEEP RUNNING AWAY.." Katy looked towards the brunette and saw her frozen to her spot..Her anger towards Cheryl had faded as she saw tears rolling down her cheeks as her lover was rooted to her spot staring at their daughter...

"I-I'm sorry." Cheryl dropped down to the floor burrying her face in her arms.. The sound of Max's sobs ringing in her ears... She was slowly breaking apart.

Katy felt a big lump on her throat as she fights the urge to cry...She just wants the both of them to be better...To make up...

"Baby..I think its time to let your walls down..If you want to get better...We're for you..Let's make this right yea..Cause our family is slowly falling apart.." Katy whispered to her daughter and for it feels like forever, Max's sobs died down and she slowly nodded... Making Katy pull away and placed a kiss on her little girl's forehead.. and stood up going over to her girlfriend..

"Cheryl..Baby, Get up...Chez Please get up..." Cheryl looked up to Katy with a surprised look on her face...Katy just gave her a small smile as she pulled Cheryl up to her feet and take her arms as she guided her towards the bed sitting her down..

"Baby, I'm so sorry.. I didn-" Cheryl was cut off with arms wrapped around tightly around her neck.. And tears damping her shoulder sleeve and as soon as she came into her senses she embraced her daughter back sending all the love she can give..

"Please Mam don't run away..Don't leave us..Just stay here and Don't go anywhere.." Cheryl nodded in agreement holding her daughter as close as possible never letting her go.

"I promise..."

"No please Mam don't say that...Just do it, don't promise it..." Cheryl nodded and pulled back to kiss her daughter all over her face making a small smile appear on hef daughter's face and Katy saw leaving her thinking that its already a big step for Max to get better or a huge step for their family to be back together with the refreshing atmosphere clinging into the air...

"I love you Maxene..."

"I love you too Mam." Cheryl planted a kiss on Max's forehead and hugged her.. And she looked at her lover right in front of her with a proper smile on her face.

Thank You..And I'm so sorry"She mouthed to get a soft kiss on the lips in return..

"I love you.." Cheryl whispered against her lips.

"I love you more"
