Chapter 55

Max's P.O.V.

I was shook out of my sleep by mum who was looking terrified.

"Mum?" I squinted as I sit up. "What's wrong?"

"Cheryl's having a nightmare babe and I can't wake her up." I instantly shoot out of bed. My heart racing a mile as I run out of my room. My mam is having nightmares but when mum told me that she can't wake her up that terrifies me.

I stormed in their room and saw mam thrashing around in bed with her eyes closed and tears trickling down her face. I immediately got on bed grabbing both her wrist trying to hold it in. That's when mum got in the picture helping me with mam's wrist.

"Mam..mam.wake up." I said touching her face. But she won't give in. A lump was forming in my throat as I witness mam's state infront of me.

"NOOO!!" She screamed bringing me back into reality. So I got completely over her pinning her in between my legs and held her face.

"Mam, please wake up...Mam" I saod softly planting kisses all over her face and it surprisingly calmed her down.

"Mammy" I whispered softly and that's when her eyes snapped open looking around then her eyes landed to me.

"Max, baby is that you?" A frown form on my face but I nodded anyway. She immediately pulled me into her arms wrapping them around me tightly.

"D-don't leave us p-please...Don't go..." My heart is beating out of my chest as mam burried her face on my neck. Her tears non-stop.

"Mam..its okay..I'm here." I put my arms around her rubbing her back. I glanced at mum and she's just looking at us with tears daring to come out. I'm confuse and scared. Mam's nightmare now is the worst I've ever seen. She won't stop crying.

Mum gestured herself out to get mam some water as I continue to calm mam down.

"Mammy..Can you tell me what happened?" I was worried and was about to pull away to look at her properly but she didn't let me, locking me in her arms and she puts her legs around me clinging to me for dear life.

"No..D-don't let go...Please don't go yet..." My eyes widen as I realize that she's having a panick attack as her breath got heavier and she's catching her breath.

"Mam, I need you to breath.Yo-"

"What's there t-to b-breath for?"

"Mam what the f*ck are you saying..Just-"

"You died... I want to go with y-you.." Is that what she dreamt of. I hugged her tighter letting her know I'm here. I'm still here.

"I'm alive mam...I'm still alive.." I whispered as my voice shaked. I think this will be mam's state the moment I would be gone. Or worse..

"Here's the water..Babe.." Mum sat beside us and stroked mam's hair.

"Mam, drink water first please.." She turned her head and mum helped her drink the glass of water after that she immediately turn to me burrying her face on the crook of her neck..crying her heart out..

"D-don't leave us...I'm not coping well baby...I want to go with you..Take us with you."

"Mam, I'm not going anywhere..I'm right here...I'm alive..I'm real." Tears started to fall cause I can't help it anymore..Mam thinks I'm dead which I'm not..yet..

"Look at me." She pulled away slightly but kept her arms around me and looked into my eyes.

"I'm real..I'm not dead.." I whispered wiping her tears. I held her face and planted a kiss on her both cheeks. "I'm not dead." She doesn't say anything instead she breath heavily and rest her head on my shoulder. I think that calmed her down.

I took a glance at mum and my eyes widen as the moonlight illuminate her face allowing me to see a scratch right across her right cheek. She looked away at my stare but my hand travels to hers making her look at me as I interlock my fingers with her..

"I love you baby.." It was soft and tired. Mam was so exhausted that she fell asleep on my shoulder.

"I think your mam fall asleep babe."

"Mum, are you okay?" I whispered. I think she's a bit shaken up. She hasn't seen mam in this state before.

"Yea..I'm fine..I need to get your mam in bed.." She gently took mam out of my arms and layed her down tucking her in..She then looked at me with raised brows.

"Go on lay down, so we could go back to sleep. We'll all forget this in the morning." I nodded and slide down getting comfortable as mum slip under the covers beside me. Mam's arms travel around my waist as I faced mum.

"You're cheek.." I whispered and she touched it with her hand making her flinch..

"Mam did that, didn't she.."

"Its okay sweetie...She's having a nightmare, she didn't mean it." She gave me a small smile but I still feel bad. I don't want her to think that mam is violent.. I also don't want them to fight.

"Can I kiss it better?" She smiled and nodded so I planted a soft kiss on her right cheek.

"Better?"

"Better, now go to sleep. "

"Oh and thank you very much for the grand birthday..You don't know how mich you made me happy today. This is the best day of my life." I grinned and she planted a kiss on my forehead.

"Its your mam's idea..I just organized it.."

"Whatever mum." This made mum giggle. "I love you two very much... " I yawned making her smile.

"We love you too sweetie... Now go to sleep.." I nodded before closing my eyes.

"Happy birthday again my baby.." I heard mum said before sleep took over me with a small smile on mgmy face
