Chapter 38

Its already two in the afternoon and I had mam asleep on my lap after hours and hours of crying. Her cheek had turned into a shade of purple. I didn't thought it'll bruise like that, its totally visible.

I caught a glimpse of mam's phone on the table so I took it and turned it on immediately saw my picture which I didn't know she took on the lock screen making it lighten my mood a bit. I unlock the phone and saw a picture of mam and mum together. I glance down at mam and I feel terrible for her. She's totally broken and I haven't seen her like this.

I lean down and planted a soft kiss on her head . I turn back to the phone and went to mam's contacts and search for mum's number. She needs to know this. I won't consider pride here cause its already getting too far.

I pressed call and waited but no one answered. I tried many times but nothing, it all went to voice mail. I let a good ten minutes pass and tried again and finally it rang out but no one's talking but I can hear her breaths.

'Mum?' I whispered afraid mam would wake up.

'Max?' She whispered weakly. I think she's in the same state as mam right now. I took a deep breath and glanced down at mam.

'Yea...Mum what's happening between you and mam?' I know I wasn't suppose to get muself involve in situation like this but this is getting way too far.

'She has a new love interest' she says bluntly making me frown.

'And you believe that sh*t' I whispered and she doesn't answer. ' Mum do you believe that mam can cheat on you...Mam's totally shattered right now.'

'I am too!' She sniffed and that silenced me. 'The whole world thought Cheryl is dating well in fact she already has a girlfriend but only a few knows that. I-Its hard on my part.'

'Mum..'

'I love Cheryl so much that it already hurts and seeing her in the papers with a man just sends me off.'

'Mum its not what it looks like.. I'll explain.' I whispered and that seem yo get her to calm a bit.

'The first picture you saw was mam and Daniel walking on the parking lot. I think that was when I was discharge from the hospital and they were just talking nothing happened. The second one was when Daniel went to the building yesterday. He brought us lunch with his son Kiel.'

'Son?'

'Yes mum, the man has a complete family. With twins and psyco wife that stormed in here earlier talking sh*t about mam.' I said my last words through gritted teeth as I remember the events earlier.

'Wait what?!'

'The article. It turns out that Hannah the psyco read about it and just stormed in here in rage. She called mam a b*tch and slap her on the cheek hard that ot already turned into a shade of purple.' Mum gasped making me sigh. I can imagine mum's face right now. She's scowling with clenched fist.

'What the f*ck. Why the hell does she had to do that. If I was there, I might've pulled her hair out of her scalp. Nobody does that to my girl.' A smile form on my face on what I just heard. There's no way mum's going to break up with mam. Her protective side is coming out again.

'What happened next?'

'I had an outburst. I grabbed Hannah by the arm and dragged her towards the door before pushing her out. And I yelled somethings to them before slamming the door. I've never felt so angry in my entire life.'

'That's my girl..Babe I'll be there tomorrow to make up  with your mam.' My eyes widen and a grin form on my face. She's coming home.

'Really?, Don't you have work?'
