Y/N's POV

Life was always changing each day with the projects I got to do. Being an editor there was always a new article to be editing or a new magazine to be looking through. Being an editor is a fun job though reading pieces before the world sees them. Today I did not have anything to work on so I chose to hang out on the farm. My family had a farm which meant growing up I learned how to ride horses, milk cows, and all the things that come with being on a farm.

I was sitting on one of my horsey's named Maple. I heard someone's footsteps but I did not recognize them. I turned around and saw Alan.

"Alan? What are you doing here?" I asked looking at Alan.

"Derek said you might be here," Alan said looking at me.

"Oh well yeah here I am," I said with a chuckle.

"I wanted to see you," Alan said.

"See me? Since when do you care to see me?" I asked.

"After we talked the other day I couldn't get you out of my head. It is weird because we have seen each other a lot over the years and," Alan said.

"And what?" I asked.

"I don't know something about you just stuck in the back of my mind," Alan said.

"Is Derek with you?" I asked.

"No, he had something to do back at the house," Alan said.

"Have you ever been on a horse before?" I asked.

"I have a few times but I ain't never been good at it," Alan said.

"Come on then," I said.

Alan got on the horse with me.

"Does the horsey have a name?" Alan asked.

"Yes, her name is Maple and this is my family farm," I said.

"It's quite beautiful," Alan said.

"Isn't it? It has a lot of family memories for me," I said.

"You should tell me about them one of these days," Alan said.

"Well how much are we going to be seeing of one another these days?" I asked.

"I hope more than none. I know you are Derek's friend but I would like to get closer to you," Alan said.

Alan was in front of me on the horse because I did not want him to fall off. I began to make the horse walk around the yard a bit.

"That would be nice," I said with a smile.

"Maybe we could spend some more time here on your farm?" Alan asked.

"Yeah, I do not see why not," I said.

"Derek said you taught him how to ride horses," Alan said.

"I did," I said.

"Well now you have a new student," Alan said.
