Y/N's POV

Today was one of those days I sat back and reviewed my work closely. There was an article about America mixed in and it made me want to go to the States so badly. I never knew what the states were like besides through the articles and papers I have read.

I was finishing up my work and returning home. Alan was waiting at the front door for me.

"I really need to get you a key to my house," I said with a chuckle as I unlocked the door.

"I know you do but when will youuu," he said.

"We can go off in a bit and make a copy for you," I said with a smile.

"Works for me," he said as he kissed me cheek.

We walked in the house and put our stuff down.

"How long have you been out there?" I asked.

"Not too long just since I got out of work," he said.

"And that would be how long?" I asked.

"About 30 minutes I was waiting for you," he said.

"I love how we just wait for the other when we get out of work," I said with a smile.

"Well of course," he said.

We sat down on the couch.

"How was your day?" I asked.

"It was good as always and how was yours?" he asked.

"Well good but I read this thing about the States which made me want to go there so badly," I said.

"Then maybe we should schedule a time for us to make our way out to the States," he said.

"Like our first vacation together?" I asked.

"Why not? I think it could be fun or maybe we could go out there in the spring?" he asked.

"I think that would be a lot of fun. And it would give us the time to set it all up and get everything situated," I said.

"Yeah, going out of the country does kind of take a bit of time to plan," he said with a chuckle.

"That is true and I think we could make it good," I said.

"Do you think Derek would want to come with us?" he asked.

"I am sure he would love to and plus he would make it fun too," I said.

"And you would be double protected in the States with the two of us," he said.

"It is not like someone is going to touch me in the States my love," I said with a chuckle.

"I know but you know how protective of you I am. I love to always protect you," he said as he wrapped me in his arms.

"I know my baby," I said as I looked at him.

He pecked my lips and smiled at me.

"What about a real kiss?" he asked.

I kissed him and smiled.

"That is better," he said.

"Well what time is it?" I asked.

"I think it is around like 4 or something," he said.

"So then we should plan on making dinner here in a little bit," I said.

"That is probably true but I am not moving right now," he said.

"I am not either but you know I just think we should make sure we eat," I said.

"We will," he said.

"Was there anything interesting that happened at work?" I asked.

"Oh boy I mean everything is always interesting. I don't think there is a day that goes by that something does not surprise me," he said with a chuckle.

"Well that is quite a well way of putting it," I said with a chuckle.

"Well..it is true. I don't have a dull moment in work. Everything is always interesting," he said.

"Meanwhile in my work it is kind of a hit or miss with it being interesting," I said.

"I think your work is kind of cool though. You get to read and edit pieces throughout the day," he said.

"But some can be weird or very different. I also have to decide what goes in and what does not go in. I feel like a bad person sometimes when I leave something out but you know," I said.

"It is your job so don't feel bad about it," he said.

"I know but you know people write those things and if they make no sense I have to omit them," I said.

"Which makes all of the papers and articles interesting," he said.

"I think it is fun though. Like today I had mentioned it was an article about America. It was discussing California and I thought that was super cool," I said.

"That does sound like fun and maybe we could go into California. Or maybe we could pick another state to go I mean California is quite popular," he said.

"I do think when we get to go it will be a lot of fun," I said.

"Oh for sure. There is so many things to do in America that we have no chance of doing here," he said.

"America is quite big which is honestly impressive. I never thought a country was so big until I read more about America," he said.

"I also read something about the studies in America and they study other places like we do," he said.

"I wonder how students in America see the UK or Scotland in general," I said.

"It sounds like a lot of people want to visit from the things I read in books," he said.

"See the view of the world is different from place to place and I find that to be so fascinating," I said.

"I am going to have to agree with you," he replied.

"Well do we think we should start to think about what we want to make for dinner?" I asked.

"I think we should. I am kind of getting hungry but what should we plan on making?" he asked.

"I don't know let's just go into the kitchen and see if we can find something," I said with a chuckle.

We got off the couch and headed into the kitchen looking through the cabinets and fridge.

"I think you have a lot of things we could pick out," he said.

"But which one is the best idea," I said with a chuckle.

"That is the best biggest question and I don't have the answer," he replied with a chuckle.

Here was to deciding what to eat for dinner.
